Thank you!
« on: January 23, 2016, 10:21:55 pm »
Wanted to take the time to thank everyone here! My son was recently diagnosed with HIV (01/19/15). The Generation 4 test found the virus in his system after the Generation 3 came back as negative.  I'm proud he had the courage to inform his mother and I. So know the fight has begun! By the grace of God I found this site and immediately began to immerse myself in it. It was through this site that I heard of the medicine called Genvoya and two days ago my son started his first dose. He is also taking Selzentry two times a day. I look forward to the knowledge and experience the members here have provided me in helping me lead my son in the right direction. I plan to join with the members here and try to help the next Father, Mother, Sister and Brother with this new journey. Thanks to all of you!!

Hi Blessing,
We the thank you!  I am so glad you are able to assist your son.  When you feel he is ready, he is more than welcome to join himself and can participate in all areas of the forums, and get some support. Glad he is on treatment and hope to hear more from you and him!

Thanks for the reply. I think a big part of this is to try to temper my wants for him to seek out knowledge, understanding, friends, and let him try and find his way when he is ready. Until then I will educate myself on all things concerning HIV and be prepared for questions / concerns that he may have. I am so grateful to all of you. A Fathers job is to protect his children and I just didn't know how until finding this site.
Hopefully soon he too will become a member here. That would make me very happy. As I tell him " Life is Wonderful....Live It!

So nice to read a family story that's not full of anger and fear, but is overbrimming with love and support.

Take care, and maybe see you round the forums :)
