Massachusetts Marijuana
« on: November 06, 2008, 02:25:35 pm »
I saw this article a few minutes ago re: decriminalization of marijuana in Massachusetts and it brought to mind the petitions I was helping to circulate in California over 30 years ago.  I remember stoners who were happy to sign the petition and never registered to vote.   ;D  Have the best day

Oh Roddles,

I live in California and know my prescription is not recognized by the feds.  We have the option to purchase a card from the State Department of Health, Medicare pays half but it is still 80 bucks a year and whether or not is recognized in other states, even those states which support Medical Marijuana, I do not know.

Medical Marijuana dispensaries in San Francisco pay around 2-3 thousand per pound for the high end stuff.  They do a lot of sales in the 1/8th oz. size with a price tag of $60.00.  That equates to about 100% profit because they do have employees, rent, utilities and taxes but most employees are volunteer customers who work for free medication.  The dispensaries still maintain a good profit margin.  Decriminalization in Massachusetts seems like a good beginning.  ;D  Have the best day
Michael
