Hello Douglas!  Thanks for sharing a bit about your situation.  I officially live in St. Louis, but work near the Missouri/Tennessee border.  I was diagnosed this year and had absolutely no guidance in trying to navigate the system here in Missouri.  Luckily I was employeed full time and still in good health and have health insurnace.  But there was still a lot of frustration in trying to just simply find out some information.

As a long term survivor I'm sure you have a lot of knowledge and insight to share with those of us that are a bit newer at this.  I'll look forward to hearing from you on the boards.

Hi Douglas,

I wish to extend to you a warm WELCOME here at the forums. Here you will find the encouragement, communication, understanding, support, some cries, some laughter, and many of your questions relating to HIV/AIDS answered.

We have a great group of Real people who will listen as well as answer you. We are here to encourage one another and to learn from each other.

Talking to other people helps us see that we are not the only ones with problems. Feel free to come and vent with whatever is on your mind from time-to-time as it is highly therapeutic.

In the interim, you may want to start taking a multi-vitamin, Omega 3 and eat a diet high in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean protein, and low-fat dairy and avoid processed foods, saturated and trans fats. This will also help you maintain a healthy weight.

Exercise at least three times per week for a minimum of 30 minutes.

Make the BEST of each and every Day!

Hi Douglas.  Welcome!  We have had a thread from another TN resident who has been struggling trying to figure out how things work in TN.  If you have the time and interest, it would be great of you to try posting your presence in the thread with the hope that the two of you might be able to share your state resources.  You seem to have a great grasp of how to make the system work as it should.  Best, Win

That's wonderful, Douglas.  I admit this need to hook up if only for information/experience a person from one thread with a person from another thread lest they not know about each other.  I am so glad that you found each other already. :) Best, Win

Hey Douglas,

Howdy from New Mexico. Glad you have joined us here and I hope to hear more from you.

It sounds like you have a handle on the availability of services in your area. Thanks for the info.

I just wanted to welcome you. Make yourself at home.

Hi Douglas,

Welcome to the foum. I live in Jackson, Tn. Our ASO closed in 2001 due to the director using funds for personal business so the ASO lost funding. Our services are provided by the West Tn Regional Health Department & West Tn Legal Services so I know what it is like having to go through different officies to get services...

Anyway, glad you found the forum and I look foreword reading your post.

All The Best,

Dan J.
