o hai! i can haz teh AIDS?
« on: June 30, 2008, 05:03:32 pm »
Well folks, today is my big anniversary.  Or rather it was yesterday but my computer was in the shop over the weekend.  Anyway, the date's fuzzy but I do know from copies I have of my first year of blood work that 29 June 1993 was when I had my HIV test that came back positive, so that's 15 years of an AIDS diagnosis and 15 years of being on meds.  And to make the date more fun (and I'd procrastinated so long and that was my very first, and only, HIV test) we'll just go ahead and make it my 20th year of actual infection, since I don't really know when that was but 1988 would make sense kind of in light of my '93 lab numbers and high risk activity in '88.

I was going to write some big ole post about what a tragedy my life became after that fateful day but I've decided not to bore everyone :)

So put on some disco music and light a candle for me, dammit.

Hey David,

Wow, I've got "I Love the Night Life" by, who was that, stuck in my head.   I will be having brownies in a little bit, and will try to find a candle to put in them.  They're not the good kind of brownies, however, damn it.

Maybe in your honor, I will put on my Prince CD later, go out in my yard and dance naked. ;)  Here's to many, many more years sweetheart.
  Luv,
Betty

Congratulations are due and a bit of tea and sympathy.
I dont know if I should say "Oh Barbara please." but I do know that you are doing well for someone whose life "became a tragedy".

How about a rendition of " I Will Survive"

Hey Philly,

Congrats, I think?!?

I would post a song, but I'm still on dial up and it would take a millennium to download it.

So, just reach back in that memory of yours and remember the song: "Those were the Days."

I don't remember who sang it, Maybe it was Momma Cass. At any rate, it is just melancholy enough to fit this occasion, yet happy enough to make you sing.

HUGS,

Mark
