Girl Scout Cookies!
« on: March 04, 2007, 05:47:44 pm »
I have purchased about thirty bucks worth of the damn things... and they're almost here.  Huzzah!

And I'm not one of those people who buys like 5 boxes of Thin Mints, and one of Trefoils, either  I buy the fat fat fattiest ones (Tag-A-Alongs and Samoas).

Oh yes.

Oh God, yes!

I am going to make myself sick on them... it happens every year... empty Girl Scout cookie boxes and me chugging Maalox from the bottle.

A beautiful sight.  And tasty, too.

Sulks..they bring biscuits to your home? Not a phenomenom known here
Saying that its just as well as recent addiction to triple chocolate cookies would mean with home delivery my ass would be very quickly too big to fit through the door!
and sorry KEEP biscuits? Alien concept  ;D

In some suburban neighborhoods, they'll bring them to your home...

I get mine through a lady at work who sells them for her niece.  Our annual addiction to baked goods sold by cherub cheeked scouts means that that little girl tends to win her troop's selling contest.

They come to my work, I leave cash, I get cookies.

It's a lot like a drug deal.  Only tastier.

And Rod, I commend your self-control in being able to keep Girl Scout cookies.  Last year, they barely lasted my shift.  My shift lasts eight hours.

I'm in the same boat as Tigger here. The concept of children decked out like the Hitler Youth delivering tasty biscuits to ones door is a new one for me.

I like it!

I think the tradition of girl scouts going door to door is just about history what with the safety issue.  I still don't see why the parent(s) can't stand on the sidewalk and watch?!

Anyway, they're usually sold by the adult relatives to friends and co-workers.

Mine won't be here til the 16th!! :(

I got nothin'.

Oh the bloom is way off that rose. Now their fat moms assume you will be purchasing sweet little Amber's cookies without even asking, stalking you at work until you relent. Have you seen the size of your average American Girl Scout these days? Believe me, they are eating more of their wares than walking door to door trying to sell them. They are tasty though. The cookies.

Shop Tesco's online - they deliver! ;)

I sold Girl Scout Cookies back when a parental escort wasn't needed. Of course, mom and her car was required on delivery day. It must be around twenty years since I last ate a Girl Scout - or a Girl Scout cookie for that matter! :D

Here in Mobile I was accosted by a table full of young ladies with a limited variety
outside Winn Dixie....but alas I bought some....
but only two boxes....they didn't have my favorite GS cookie.
Now if a hunky Boy Scout showed up at
my door selling cookies....Hmmm.....I suspect I'd buy the whole lot.

I'm so BAD :P

As a kid, I was forced to help my sister sell them - door to door.  It was crushing and humiliating.  However, I did get clued in, through the experience, to the bad taste of the American Middle class at an early age. LOL

It was only later in my years, as I was looking for a free couch on craigslist, that I was reminded of the poor taste.  http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/fur/288534221.html

I'm sad I didn't get to buy any cookies this year. :(

ah well...

They hang out in front of Wal-Mart in my town.....I'm sure they sell TONS of them, if you can judge by the size of the average Wal-Mart shopper....

I love the Samoas and thin mints!
