Checking In Also
« on: January 27, 2021, 09:57:39 pm »
It has been a while since I posted, but I do check in from time to time.

It has been just over two years now - October 2018 - when I was diagnosed. First appointment with my ID doctor at the end of November 2018. Started Biktarvy in December 2018.

I remember taking that first pill thinking there is no turning back now. That is when it all became so real.

2021. I’m good - not all that much has changed - nothing really. Pill every morning. I am truly grateful for that.

I still get down on myself -“How could you be so stupid! You knew it was a possibility.” Learning to live with that - alone with that - has been the toughest part.

Know I care my friends!

I feel you, I was diagnosed in early 2017 and I’m still blaming myself in exactly the same way.

Something I read comes to mind: “ignorant” people blame others for their misfortunes, people who are progressing blame themselves but the wise men blame neither others nor themselves.

I consider myself still in the learning phase, I hope that one day I’ll become “wise” and let go all the blaming forever.

Tha asidet, it’s good to know you’re ok! 🙏🏻

Thank you, Mindless.

I just had my meds re-approved. Every year I have to get a ‘medical necessity’ for Biktarvy between my online pharmacy (that my insurance requires I use) and my doctors office. Like anyone takes Biktarvy as some sort of supplement. Crazy.

I get anxious each time I have to renew - but it’s just part of the process.

Got my annual STI screening. I’m not as careful as I should be. Hopefully all is well.
