CD4 Report - Please explain

I like very much this forum I am getting prompt replies/suggestions our senior members.

I got my CD4 report today, it reads as

FLOW CYTOMETRY
LYMPHOCYTE SUBSET ENUMERATION. BLOOD

ABSOLUTE CD4+ LYMPHOCYTE COUNT       488          354-1100 /µL
%CD3+/CD8+ (T-SUPPRESSOR CELLS)            68.4          18-41 %
ABSOLUTE CD8+ LYMPHOCYTE COUNT     1693       192-980 /µL
CD4/CD8 RATIO                             0.29          0.57-2.03

My doctor says the report is okay, I know only CD4 count in this report, what about other readings, what they says.Am i Okay? Please explain, I am just curious to know

           Lot of tests are done when you are diagnosed +ve.

           These tests help the doctors to asses the state of your health, state of the immune system
           and the progress of hiv in your body.

Hello,

This means:

% CD3+/CD4+ (T-HELPER CELLS)               19.7          26-48 %

Your CD4 % (proportion of CD4 cells in your lymphocytes, a type of white blood cell). A CD4% around 20% indicates time for treatment

ABSOLUTE CD4+ LYMPHOCYTE COUNT       488          354-1100 /µL

Your CD4 count (number of CD4 cells in a microlitre of blood, about a drop). A count of around 500 is high, normal even, but with your CD% being low still indicates time for treatment.

The numbers on the right show the normal range, ie what someone without HIV will expect to score on the test.

I would be happy with these results.

you've experienced a 150 + increase in CD4 count in a year.

Things may plateau for a little while, then gradually go on the increase again (statistically speaking, of course, everyone is different...)

immune restoration may take a while  something like 2-3 years...

the greenest zone is when your CD4 + has been above 500 and VL UD for at least 3 years.

You are on the right track, which is why your doc is happy with the results, I suppose.
