Update
« on: August 05, 2010, 05:31:19 pm »
Hello to my faithful and insightful friends.  I have missed you guys.  I went on vacation with my family and stayed at a lake in VA with my husband, son, daughter, and step-son.  It was so wonderful to get to spend time with my HIV+ son since he lives so far away and I don't get to see him often.  He has been on Atripla for about 9 weeks now.  He has put on nearly 10 pounds and looked better than I have seen him look in years.  He seems happy and at peace with his diagnosis.  The drinking is still an issue.  He gets very sick when he drinks, but that doesn't stop hiim from drinking, so in my humble, non-drinking opinion he is torturing himself needlessly.  But, he is 28 now and that is his choice.

On another positive note, my son has decided to move here with me for a year before he transfers to Tampa so that he can put some money aside to buy a house when he gets to Tampa.  I am so excited to get to spend lots of time with him.  He goes back to the ID dr. in September and we are hoping for an UD VL.

Thanks again for listening and responding to all my posts which I'm sure are not nearly as interesting to everyone else as they are to me.

Here to good health,
Squaw

Great news! I have the happy hour margarita or two every Friday night. When I take Atripla that night, it makes me sick and miserable as well. I still do it though.  The day after the day after I come back to life. Your son is lucky to have you as a mom!

That's wonderful news Squaw!  It will be nice for you to spend some much needed time together.  Good to hear he's doing well.
