pos exp, pos load, negative elisas, ars, please help
« on: June 28, 2006, 08:44:33 pm »
I had vag. sex with hiv + woman. No condom.
I experienced ARS-like at 2-4weeks after. If I experienced true ARS
I should have developed the antibodies within a couple of weeks right?

I had Elisas done at 1, 2,3,4,5,6,7 months Negative.
Odered DNA by PCR tests at 3 and 4 months. Negative
Viral Load test b-DNA 50<copies at 5 months, result 266 copies, POSITIVE
Repeated the v.l with Versant V3.0 bDNA 75<copies it came Undetectable, at 6 months.
Western Blot for HIV1 and HIV2;  No bands were reactive, at 6 months.
CD4/CD8 ratio is 0.9, (inverted),  CD4 abs is 590. CD4 % is 33.
My whitebloodcount is 4.7 in a normal window of 4-10. (I am low which
Means my body is fighting a viral infection)

Wife’s Elisas at 1,3,4 and 6 months Negative.

We have both developed several new normal looking black moles
Lately I have been dizzy, with a random light headache,
and she has purple punch like bruises that come and go
In a week or so. I as you can imagine, I am tired, worn-out, worried, and sad.
Are we late seroconverters I wander? Are the Elisas outdated? Or what is it?
Why my cd8 is abnormally high 800’s, it means I am fighting an infection?
What has depleted my cd4 cells? Is there another virus outhere that does something similar? What is the name a viruses specialist that can answer this, a pathologist?
I rally need your support, I am planning for an 8 month test tomorrow, Oraquick Advanced, 25 minutes.  I am tired, frustrated, scared, worried, sad, and only Christ
has brought us consolation. I have 3 kids and this really hurts me.
Thank you for any input or enlightenment, I would really appreciate it.

You have way more than reliably tested negative for HIV. Testing beyond three months is not necessary unless the person is being treated for cancer or is an IV drug user, and even then 6 months is sufficient.

So you're worrying about HIV needlessly. You are HIV negative. Period. End of story.

As to your moles and anything else you and/or your wife are concerned about, you should check them out with your doctor(s). It has nothing to do with HIV. Period.

Should you stray outside of your marriage again make sure you use a latex condom everytime. They provide very effective protection.

Vale,

Hiv is a fragile, difficult to transmit virus and more so from a woman to a man. My own partner and I were together for a year and a half before I discovered my hiv status and we stared using condoms. He's still hiv negative seven years later.

I'm telling you this so you can believe that you are hiv negative and very much conclusively so after all those tests. Exposure does not always equal transmission and infection. You might have been exposed, but you were NOT infected.

It's time you moved on with your life.

Thank you dear people for your words of encouragement.
I truly wish to get over this with all my stenght. If I had no body afflictions it would be mush easier. Its just that I know there is a viral infection on me of some sort and don't know what type of doctor can figure it out.
Bellieve me the guilt is tremendous as one realizes the potential for damage to the family.
Can anyone help with some answer to my questions. Thanks.

It doesn't matter what your mind is saying about your concerns. The fact that thus far there hasn't been a medical explanation for your concerns doesn't by default change the validity of your negative HIV test results.

Whatever is going on has nothing to do with HIV. Pursue it with your doctor(s) until you get a satisfactory resolution.

Yes, we know you're a dog like the rest of us and you strayed, but you're not infected and you haven't infected anyone else with HIV.

This is not an HIV situation. Really. No kidding.

Your White blood count is low, but within limits.

As has been said, you have tested negative way beyond even the most conservative window periods. I understand you are concerned because of an unprotected sexual event with a known HIV positive partner, however female to male transmission is low. Your conclusive tests merely confirm this.

The low CD4 count is not a specific enough test to diagnose HIV infection - a HIV test is. You have had 12 and got one false-posiitve test. If you and your wife feel unwell, you should follow up with a doctor.

R
NB. Any advice about HIV is given in addition to your own medical advice and not intended to replace it. You should never make clinical decisions based on what anyone says on the internet but rather check with your ID doctor first. Discussions from the internet are just that - Discussions. They may give you food for thought, but they should not direct you to do anything but fuel discussion.

I would really like to find out if maybe I  contracted some sort
of ‘herpesviridae’: cytomegalovirus (HHV-5)mononucleosis, Karposi's sarcoma
herpesvirus (HHV8), the Epstein-Barr virus (HHV-4), or paramyxovirus (mumps).
I do not know how to order this test online, the doctors usually refuse to order this
tests because they are conscious of insurance questioning them.
I have gone ahead and tested for HIV ‘again’, this is on the 8th month postexposure.
Unfortunately Quest uses second generation tests, as Labcorp.
I have a constant semi-headache and slight dizziness, along with denuded
areas on my tongue whose perimeter is red and easily bleeds when first formed.
Am just waiting to turn positive and keep praying to God for one more chance.
Thanks.

Vale,

You are hiv negative.

If you have physical symptoms that are bothering you, see your doctor and let him or her decide what tests you need. Unless you are a licenced medical practitioner, stop practicing medicine on yourself.

You are hiv negative and there is nothing more we can do for you here. If you are unable to accept your negative hiv status, please seek the assistance of a mental health care professional. We cannot give you the face to face support you need.

You sound like you are praying for the chance to be positive. Knock it off and give thanks that you are hiv negative.

I am starting to think that this HIV ‘bug’ is more than one. It’s a combination of viruses,
and retroviruses that end up decimating one if one is not well maintained; healthy lifestyle, free of drugs and toxins.
I just wish to know what type of doctor can screen my blood for any viruses.
My innards are not at rest and my cerebral mass is constantly with a mild aching
where I feel out of balance, slight dizziness.
I would like Hivworker and Alberte to suggest me what they think in detail, if I may ask,
besides that 13 weeks is conclusive, I know I probably will be told to see mental help
and be probably shut-off, kind of understandably so, I apologize for that beforehand.
Being that LabCor and Quest here in the U.S. use 2nd generation I bought on-line from
a co called First-Vue a 4th generation kit from Florida.
Thank you guys and gals, for being there, thanks Ann.
Someday I will come out of this forest.

Vale,

Who the heck is Alberte?

You are hiv negative. As I told you before, exposure does not necessarily equal transmission. Hiv is a fragile, difficult to transmit virus and more so from a woman to a man. Just be thankful that you weren't infected and move on with your life.

By the way, I hope you realise that stress and anxiety can - and will - cause they symptoms you are having. Please talk to a doctor about this.

Symptoms means nothing for hiv infection dignosis. Ok, what is going on? please.

Is our health department government incompetent, or do they even care?

What makes the machine turn is numbers, yes numbers of people. In this forum
events we are a single individual, one voice, one tiny thread, who would listen?
No one with the means of helping.

Most people, including our politicians have the attitude of if I am ok then so what.
We also tend to be judgemental; 'they deserved it'.

Most doctors we go to have little interest on finding the root of the problem on ordering the right
tests, these doctors are more interested on staying on the insurance 'good' side, and restrain
from ordering the appropriate tests to minimize insurance cost not best prognosis.
We then fall prey to the online testing companies that can order most labtests and end up
charging us nearly 2x to 3x what we would pay if our doctor would only order this tests at
our expense at our request, for which most drs. refuse.

The drs. place all their hiv schooling on one test; the hiv elisa. If the result is negative then they just
'wash their hands' and  most blame it on the mind. No govt entity seems to keep a record/reseach of what is going
on or just does not have the means, too few voters to matter.

I figure this hiv pathogen is new and not well understood yet. I also figure that those of us that
had 'symptoms' will truly find our status in the next decade for it is when most will succumb to
this virus if we are hosting it. Although I plan to monitor my cd4/immune system via testing yearly.

Us inquiring individuals should unite and form a private non-government controlled test lab dedicated
to identifying pathogens of this std nature. I am willing to bet that most of us are willing to mortgage
the house to together form a Test Lab co. in order to find the pathogen/s that is/was causing our maladies,
and therefore giving us answer and tranquility. We need to set up a lab for the regular Joe by the Joe.

Why is it that the hiv elisa is rather inexpensive and other tests like for the EBV, CMV, hhv-6 elisas are
very expensive, what is the difference? both elisas are looking for anti-bodies.

I feel for the + diagnosed, I also feel for our families.
If we took matters into our own hands with our own money we would find a cure to this desease soonest, no red tape involved.
Negative at 11.5 month hiv 1 & 2. Had most symptoms. Tongue denuded in some top areas but
relieving after some stuff i've been taking, slight nausea persist at times, very slight off balance at times.
Thank you all.

Symptoms means nothing for hiv infection dignosis. Ok, what is going on? please.

It means whatever is causing your symptoms, it isn't HIV.

Ya dig, lab-partner? Got that? Comprende?

How do we know this? Well because you report:

Negative at 11.5 month hiv 1 & 2.

As for all your other palaver about mortgaging houses, banding together, feeling for the HIV positive and an absence of red tape, I suggest you go and do it. I'm sure there's a Yahoo! group or something similar that can cater to your needs.

Oy!

Thanks for your patience.
Yesterday at the drs. office I found that I had a high crp test response. I had to suggest this test to the dr. It indicates my body is fighting an inflamation somewhere by something. The test is not specific but it enabled me to query the dr. for more testing instead of treating this as a mental case.

I am looking at other possibilities besides hiv as the folks here suggested me. thanks.

Symptoms are not an indication of hiv. The following is what I will pursue,
I am suspecting an infection of a mycoplasma type, they cause the following symptoms:

systemic mycoplasma infection can present with parkinsons-like twitching, motor disorder, shaking, weakness, night sweats, neuropathy, rashes, pharyngitis, sleep disorder, heart palpitations, sensation of terror and/or irritability (hypothalamus controls emotions such as rage, fear and pleasure), muscle and joint pain, sensory and reflex hypersensitivity (e.g. sound intolerance), adenopathy, confusion and anxiety, coagulated ejaculate, spleenomegaly, bleeding gums, rapid weightless, nausea, racing metabolism (thyroid/endocrine), sepsis (overwhelming infection), diarrhoea and bowel disorder, temperature fluctuations, chills, drooling, blurred vision, metallic taste in mouth, numbness in extremities and back of head during attempted sleep, extreme spine, neck and back pain, difficulty turning neck, skin irritated by fabric coverings, and elevated herpes antibody titers. The onset of mycoplasma infection can be insidious and/or localized depending on the particular mycoplasma subtype and isolate involved.

This is why symptoms are not indicative of anything specific to hiv as Ann says. There are so many things outhere that are contagious. This is one of them, it is neither a bacteria nor a virus but behaves like a virus and it can decimate the immune cells to the point that host dormant viruses can revive and proliferate affecting us in various morbid ways.    Thanks.
