Hi Niv , we can better help you if you tell us what exactly the risk you had was .

HIV is sexually transmitted when people engage in unprotected vaginal or anal sex , if the risk you had was from unprotected vaginal or anal sex you will need to test for HIV as well as other STD's you may have been exposed to .

The window period for testing is 6 weeks past exposure and again at 3 months to confirm the result . If you haven't had an exposure since March then you can test for a conclusive result and know your status . Your symptoms could be from a host of other conditions so we do not discuss symptoms , the only way to know if you have HIV is to test at the appropriate time .
To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

On 31st March I had 2 bottles of beer and I met this  dancing prostitute in bangkok. We took bath together and I fingured her and took bath together. After some moments we had sex with a condom. there was some difficulty in the beginning for the penis to go in, after some time in 1-2 minutes. I ejaculated, but when I was withdrawing from her vagina I saw some white liquid besides her vagina, I am not sure whether that was semen from me ( after condom broke) or that was from her. I felt pretty safe so I did not bother to think about PEP, I did my usual rigorous exercise for a month but from the next month onwards, I started having stomach discomfort where GERD was suspected by my doctor. But from the 8th week onwards I started having fatigue, ,muscle pain, bone pain and night sweats. Loss of appetite is also bad. I am experiencing night sweats, mild muscle pain, mild pain in tendon, little bit of swollen lymph on the neck and groin. And there are rash that comes up for couple of hours and goes off. My weight loss was around 3 kilos in ten days but I am able to hold it after extra food. And also I feel there is some change in the smell of the urine too. Exhaustion;night sweats;lymph node and liver enlargement is a pain for me. I dont know I am so worried.

Hi Niv , thanks or clearing that up about your risk .

The best I can tell you is a condom break is a good reason to test and testing if you are not sure if the condom broke is the responsible thing to do .

The only way to know your status is to test for HIV and that's what I'm advising you to do , go get tested .
