Your advice please

I’m from Belgium so excuse my bad english. I want to hear your advice, because you americans are more advanced than we here. And you are real hiv-experts as I read, are you?

I think I put myself at risk for contracting hiv. A poz girlfriend touched my penis head with her hands when having petting. So I  (or more exactly the head of my penis) came in contact with a little quantity of vaginal fluid (because of mutual masturbation) and a rest of blood she had on her fingers because of an acne that began to bleed. The virus could not have died because it was an immediate contact, after 10 seconds everytime. My doc here in belgium told me that is was a little risk and i should test at 6 months mark. Because little risk is still a risk, he told.

I read on the internet forums: Some say little risk, others no risk.. I never had sexual contact before this. So do I have to test for hiv now? To protect the others?
I would not panic, but seven/eight weeks after this incident, I got some furuncles, most of them on the back of my body.  Some come, other disappear. I never had this before. Well sometimes one , ok. But not so much. Also onfinger, arm, legs. Folliculitis they name that too.  Read that this could be hiv-related because of the immune system.
Now I fear that I got infected with this deathbringing hi-virus. Can you control it nowadays for a short, long time or even lifetime or what if i got it???
Are taking pills a burden? What if I got a resistant virus? Ireally fear i got a resistant virus!!!

You are worrying needlessly about HIV. The only confirmed risks for the sexual transmission of HIV are unprotected vaginal and anal intercourse. So as long as you always use condoms for those activities you will be well protected.

HIV is a fragile virus. It is not passed through body fluids on someone's hands. Even if her hands were dripping with vaginal secretions and she touched your penis, it still wouldn't be a risk. Period.

As for your symptoms, that is something to discuss with your doctor. They have nothing to do with HIV.

Just remember to always use condoms for intercourse and you'll be ok as far as HIV is concerned.

As Andy advised you, you were never at risk of contracting HIV.

If you have troubling symptoms you need to discuss them with your doctor. You did not have a risk for HIV and you need to let go of this and get on with your life.

Thanks for your answer! I'll try to get on with life.
But the fact that I've more acne and furuncles now, make me fear for HIV because they say that these people are more easily affected by this. Is this true? But would this be possible after some weks already?

Ron,

Your skin problems are being cause by bacteria, not hiv. Talk to your doctor about what antibacterial soap to use.

You did not have the remotest risk of hiv infection in the situation you are worried about.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!
