Should I take my meds with light or heavy food
« on: July 19, 2018, 01:04:46 am »
The meds I take now need to be taken with food (that's what my doc said),but I asked her if it should be heavy food or light (i.e. a sandwich or full meal). The meds I take now are rezolsta (darunavir/cobicistat) and truvada (tenofovir/dissoproxil) . It makes me super paranoid, even though the doc said it's ok,and the leaflet in the box says the type of food doesn't matter. What's your opinion/advice.

My advice would be to trust the advice of your doctor and the the recommendations of the drug manufacturer over whatever folks on here might say in this regard.

This forum is a tremendously helpful place, particularly when you are new and coming to terms with living with this virus.  However, it is NOT a substitution for sound medical advice from actual doctors.

I understand that this is scary and that one wants to be sure that they are "doing it right", but if you stay here long enough and read enough different "experiences", you will find that there are a number of ways to live with this virus.  The one uncompromising fact though, is to take your meds every day.

Thank you so much,I just get paranoid sometimes. If I have a little cold I immediately think of treatment failure. Can't recognize what is normal and what's not. I have almost 6 months or 7 that I have been taking the meds and it all feels so complicated, especially when reading articles about the medication. But I guess trusting the health-care provider is key to beat this damn thing.
Again,thank you very much.
