Im insured thru anthem bc/bs. Has anyone heard how and if Obamacare will effect us with hiv?

I also have BCBS as well as medicare, the way I understand it, is nothing will change untill after 2014, all of the safety nets will still be in-place (for those who meet the income requirements) RW & ADAP might change after 2014 ;)

redbull thanks to obamacare the federal ins i may have to enroll in b/c my income , i got a appeal for adap i went to my dr yesterday for blood work etc and had him fill out a form for the IXPX insurance for IL if i don't qualify ,which costs me a monthly sum , i called adap about how to pay for the 1st month's medicine , they told me they will help with the 1st and IXPX will cover the rest of the yr's worth, so far i'm still learning how it works

The high risk pool here in Missouri is vague about your cost...it says from 199 to 600.00 per month plus co-pays and limits on meds. Only specific ones will be paid for as anything else is considered not necessary for treatment. It has a one million life time cap but does not say what would happen if for some strange reason you hit the cap.
Now that tells me no knows what is really going on. My doctor said the only thing I know is that you probably will not be any worse off than you already are.
How do you suddenly come up with 600.00 per month plus co-pays on everything when you make just enough to get by?

pilot my cost per month is 300 i can pay the 1600 for the 1 for atripla 2000 will cost me theres grey area i have to look at if that's the case i won't get my meds i'm in the enroll process now b/c im off from adap b/c i make too much i'm from st louis

it depends on what you mean by "just enough to get by".
Many states already offer ADAP help to those making 3X FPL. Those people will probably be enfolded into state medicaid programs to receive their medications, similar to how the current medicaid waiver 1115 allows people to have access to prescriptions for daily medications w/o any other healthcare services. The AHA also has provisions, as in vouchers, to help people under certain financial limitations purchase health care insurance. Additionally, pharmaceutical companies are already offering co-pay assistance to help purchase medications.
also as to the math of your query, that possible 600 a month figure should probably be minus whatever a person is currently paying for their health care before entering into the high risk pool, so it wouldn't be a jump from nothing to $600 but more likely a jump from $200+ to something higher. ;)

If you believe the US federal government is monitoring these threads, you may consider that you have had a break with reality. I'm not sure, but it seems you are questioning something Ann said and declaring it to be false with no reference whatsoever. Seriously, you need to learn how to communicate in the written word, because right now, you just sound crazy.
