Sylvia's mother said...

Have been having telephone and internet problems lately (both AT&T products).  After spending the entire morning in a mall, looking for a new telephone... I went to a RadioShack outlet in Santa Rosa.  RadioShack offered a new AT&T Digital w/answering system and speakerphone.  I like speaker phone function because it makes people uncomfortable and there are people who call who should be made uncomfortable.

Anyway, I chose this phone because of the price and the possible functions.  I got it home and there was no manual or any kind of instructions pamphlet to use in setting the controls.  Tried to set the time and date (did not work).  This new phone did show there were 4 new messages.

These messages were to Slyvia (who lives in Sebastopol).  Sylvia's mother said her outgoing message was partially recorded over.  This would not be a preloaded message from the factory.

I paid retail for a returned phone at RadioShack... I took it back to the store, they had 3 others in the back room.  All had been returned and still had previous owners messages.  The store manager tried to sell me on putting a complete phone together by using all the parts from other phones.

Finally they found ! new phone of the same make and model and it was factory sealed.  I will probably never go to that store again.  Have the best day

Hello Michael ,

Sorry you had all the problem in purchasing a phone. ( which should have been a simple thing to do.)

My own thoughts, haven't used a RadioShack in years. I am surprised that they are still in business. There going downhill, just like Circuit City. Before a lot of the other electronic stores came into existence Radio Shack was the place. I used to buy a lot of items from them, and those items always seemed to fail, shortly afterwords. I don't know...their products seem like junk, and from my own experience, they don't repair things too well either. I had a pair of two way radios,I bought once from there. They were not cheap. In the $400.00 range. One of them failed to work within the month. They gave me a real hassle, until I got in touch with their regional office. Finally after gong back and forth, I got a complete refund for the radios. Ending up buying direct from Motorola, still have those radios today. I won't step into a RadioShack anymore. Oh Yea... there are way overpriced too. ( just my thoughts)

Hope the new phone works for ya. Keep the receipt !!
