Essay on "The Cure"

Hey Guys

I don't read The Body much anymore, as I've found it unreliable in the past. I did however like this opinion piece on the need for and possible paths to a cure for HIV. I know some people find it a bit depressing to think about it and that obsessing over it can get in the way of leading a full life with HIV but I thought it would be worth a read and a chat.

I thought the article was rather interesting and recalled to mind an article I saw either here or on thebody.com, that unfortunatley I cannot find, regarding a study/report/findings by the King Leopold Institute for Tropical Diseases in Antwerp, that over time the various forms of the virus were less virulent now than when first entered the human scene due to a constant assaut by human immune systems as well as the drugs, so I think a cure may be possible. My doc, who started his practice in the east village back in 1986 thinks a future cure is possible given the progress made to date, but the question still remians, how far in the future, which will be anyone's guess.

Maybe I am a glass half full type of person, I found this article rather encouraging not depressing at all. thanks for sharing. I don't go to thebody much because I found people on the forums not very friendly.
