I've always wondered hypothetically if vampires would/would not knowing feed on someone with HIV? Will they be affected too or would they be immune if they do ? Any thoughts? ;D :D ;)

Depends on the illogic of the series. In True Blood, humans crave vampire blood so I assume in this world that Vampires don't have any diseases that humans must avoid, and likewise, vampire bodies do not get human diseases when they drink blood.

Are you kidding me? I have been hearing about the buzz for a long time. I got sucked in to it early this year, watched the first two seasons and got HBO in time for this season. My favorite show on television. It is quite addicting.
On a similar topic, did anyone watch Six Feet Under (same director)? My mother got me hooked on Six Feet Under and once I found out Alan Ball was doing True Blood, I had to see it.

As for the std thing, my thinking is a vamp is dead so how is he/she going to get any stds? And I would think because of that if a vamp drank from an HIV infected person would not become infected. I guess it would just be a different flavor.

I recalled in one of the very early episodes in Season One that they do get affected by tainted blood. In that episode, the 3 vampires in a house were sexually feeding off a gay guy who supposedly was the willing sex cum food mate. Eventually as the episodes progressed, he was seen hung upside down dead in the house; throat slashed and dripping blood into a pail, when they found out he was infected with a disease, supposedly Hep D. The lead male vampire was seen telling the gay guy before killing him that how he warned the latter of unclean blood. Seems it's a form of Hepatitis that has no effect on humans, however when a vampire comes into contact with Hep D infected blood they become much weaker which puts them at risk of being killed. :o
Anyways, as much as it's a fantasy to have a romp with your desired vamp character on True Blood, can't imagine having a piece of cold (dead) meat inside you or putting your own meat into a cold ass or pussy. :D
@Queen Tokelove: Do agree with you that True Blood is for more serious viewing with lotsa flesh (yum) and bite. Just for note, in the 2nd half of the 3rd Twilight installment, Bella does get pregnant by Edward, so there goes a theory. But, logically, if vamps were dead, shouldn't their semen be dead too? ;)

I guess it depends on who writes what. But I did see the episode you are talking about with the Hep D. What was interesting to me is that silver can paralyze a vamp and that they started the rumor that a vamp can't see his reflection in the mirror.
As for Twillight and Bella getting preggers, better hope the baby comes out human or she can forget breastfeeding.

Well, the actors are almost all gorgeous and the series has launched a lot of careers so that tired old vampire story definitely blew some new blood into the hollywood corpse.

I can't even begin to say how much I love it.
The whole thing with the werewolves and Sam finding his family and Lafayette's HI-larious line about Jesus the hot Mexican nurse and the hotties Hoyt and Jason and Eric and Bill and of course Sookie and Jessica and Pam. Not to mention Tara and, last season, Maryann and that hottie Eggs.
I could go on and on and on . . . True Blood is the gift that keeps on giving.

Now if any of you say that you liked the video Snoop Dogg did, "Oh Sookie", I am coming to stake you all personally. I thought it was horrible, low budget, and extremely ghetto, with the chain and the ring that spelled Sookie. I really can't believe that HBO backed that crap. Yeah, Snoop was tweeting about it and I told him it sucked, not that he prolly read my Tweet anyways. But he could've done a better job making that video.

The Mississippi "King" and his lover Talbot are horrible queeny stereotypes and the writing for Talbot was piss poor bad. Well they are the undead, so I guess they can act like La Cage circa 1975.
I thought the writing for the dream homo scene was good (Bill Sam) - and Lafayette gets good lines.
Basically I like the objectification of all the straight boy flesh. There was even the line this week of Jason being "prettier than a girl" - I laughed out loud. I wonder which audience this parade of naked straight hotties is for - women, straights (metros), or gays. Or all? I tend to think it is all and find that hilarious and good showbusiness..

That wasn't the Queen, that was his maker. They have had a rocky relationship ever since she turned him into a vampire.
I loved those flashbacks in previous seasons showing how she made him into a vampire during the Civil War and then another flashback of them hanging out during the 1920s and sharing young girls that they would pick up at speakeasies.
There was even the line this week of Jason being "prettier than a girl" - I laughed out loud.
Yes, that was a good line. Overall they really blur the sexual boundaries, which is one of the reasons the show is so great. That Pam is hilarious, too. I wonder how much of their audience is straight men.

I love the show... the acting is kinda duh? not the best acting but, the actors are hot! especially Eric... I would love to live in that small town! alot of action going on... I'd be hanging out at that Vampire club... probally hooked on V-blood? and donating mine... Jason has the smarts of ??? but an awesome body! fun show and some good looking men!

I love the characters of True Blood but like I said before Lafayette is my fave. I have him as a screensaver on my laptop. If he is not gay in real life, he sure does pull it off quite well on the show. He is just so sexy and I love the way he talks especially when he is calling someone a hooker. I just about died when he called Pam a hooker and she quips with "no, that was a long, long time ago".

The Sookie video with Snoop Dogg was totally tacky. I just don't get that man. I like where season 3 is going. I am waiting for that moment where it hooks me in. Every season does it where I can't stop. Maybe I am at that point(if not real soon). This show is such an addiction. I was like that with Alan Ball's "Six Feet Under". He's just amazing.

Remarkably, the opening 2 minutes of True Blood Season 3 Episode 2 was exciting enuff to sink the entire first episode premiere. It's that good! The second episode never let up on intensity and was really clever. Those witty funny one liners were killers.

That last scene with Bill and his maker was . . . let's just say TB has a way of seamlessly blending the hilarious with the scary with the sexy. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry or jack off.
And that werewolf that Eric got to escort Sookie to Mississippi is kinda hot.

I think it was the other way around - didn't he trick her into giving him some of her blood after he was wounded during the attack by the Children of the Sun?
Which ever way it was, yes, they at one point exchanged some blood and that's why she's now sexually attracted to him.
BTW, we don't have season three here yet. Can't wait.

I'm pretty sure it's Sookie who drank Eric's blood. I don't remember the details but he was injured after the Children of the Sun fight and he lied to her saying that if she drinks his blood he would heal and she fell for it. She even says something in one of the recent episodes to the effect of "I'm not falling for that line again."
It's vampire blood that has the power to make humans form a bond to the vampire, not the other way around. Although that would not explain why all those people who do V don't form bonds, unless maybe it has to be drunk directly from the vampire's veins.

It's official: I love Eric. What he does this week was low, underhanded, and completely unfair to Sookie ... and I laughed my ass off. After the big bang, with human and vampire entrails strewn all over, Bill comes in to find Eric splayed on top of Sookie, with him exclaiming "she's okay, I covered her". While Bill rushes out to confront the human attackers, Eric convinces Sookie that the silver bullets he's been struck with are killing him, and he'll die unless she helps him.
Sookie believes him. *Sigh ... Oh, Sookie*. He tells her she needs to suck the bullets out before they kill him, and she agrees. This scene is flat-out hilarious, because while Alexander Skarsgard is a wonderful actor, Eric is not, and how Sookie can fall for his B.S. is a mystery.
When Bill comes back in, he explains to Sookie that Eric has forced her to drink his blood, which means they're now ... connected. He can sense her emotions, and she may start feeling sexually attracted to him. She calls Eric a "big doody head" or "big lying A-hole" or something, but the damage is done.

I knew someone would get to the bottom of who did what between Eric and Sookie. I watched all 3 Season 3 episodes they showed tonight.. How many times I just can't count. Now they are teasing us making us wait til July 11th for a new episode. What gives? It's too early in the season for a break.

The plots are taken from a series of books called The Southern Vampire Mysteries by Charlaine Harris so anyone who's read them would know if there are witches. It would be pretty cool.

I love Trueblood and I love how it varies from the book's. I was able to enjoy the book's and now I can watch the T.V show and still have some surprises.

In switzerland we have to wait awhile before Swiss TV buys the series. Since we pay a HUGE tax for swiss TV content, and they buy almost all hit and cult series eventually, and since downloading is still legal here, I download my American series a day after they are broadcast in the states.
Then, its like chocolate. You can eat it all, or you can save some for later. I always save a few episodes in anticipation of dry weeks. Sometimes, entire series are onhold and ready to entertain.
The downside of watching TV as files on your computer is you can waste time, watching two or three in a row and being a happy glutton. I have a swiss friend, he watches entire seasons in marathon sittings.

no way, I don't see Tara getting killed off. That would really screw with the plotline I think just a little too much. I mean I know they made some changes, like originally in the books Lafeyatte dies early in the book and was never a big character...much like Jason was kind a secondary character. But to kill off Tara? I think all that would do was upset the True Blood Fans...

I was thinking Franklin might turn Tara into a vampire. But I guess he doesn't have any motivation to do that, she's probably more valuable to him as a human, unless they actually fall for each other.

The 9 crimes episode had me damn near screaming at the top of my lungs when those rednecks started beating up on Lafayette. Thank the Goddess Eric swooped in and saved his ass. Tara got bit and kidnapped by Franklin but did he bring her to the mansion to get drained by Talbot? And now I am wondering if Pam is going to get killed by the Magistrate. I hope not cause I like her too.
So many twists and turns, I can't wait til Sunday to find out. And poor poor Sookie, heartbroken by Bill. I know he still cares for her but I am wondering what he is up to. By snitching on the Queen to Russell about selling V to take Eric out was quite surprising. I am on the edge of my seat waiting in anticipation for Sunday's episode.

Yes, I'm still reading this thread even though it contains spoilers and we don't have season three here yet. By the time it airs, I'll only have fleeting memories of the spoilers, so I'm not worried.
They're re-running season one here, so at least I'm getting a weekly fix. :)

It's on HBO Sunday nights. The time depends on where you live.
There are several HBO channels. On the West coast it airs as early as 6 PM on one of the channles and then again at 9 PM on the main HBO channel.

For you True Blood fans out there (Like myself :P)
I thought it would be good to post this under this thread. While your waiting for your True Blood fix, or need something else on the side. There is a new show called the Gates, notas good as True Blood I will confess picture vampires, werewolves, demons, witches, etc. Living in the suburbs. It's more of a drama then anything, but a good watch. It airs also on Sunday.
Also, on the off season when True Blood ends this year (Cries) there's Vampire Diaries. I was against this show in the beginning because of the whole vampires, and high school thing makes me twitch. Along with vampires in the sunlight. However, it has turned out to be very good indeed! not...as good as True Blood, but definitely a good filler while True Blood is out of season.
And on a side note, I don't have the name of it yet. But, my mom says theres a new Steven King T.V series. I think..its called Haven, but I could be really wrong there. Not for sure what its about, but at least to me and mom if it has Steven King's name attached it's bound to be gold =)

yup it looks good so far, a lot crammed into it though.
the Steven King one I just got done watching the first episode looks really awesome about a town called Haven where supernatural types live and a FBI agent sent there to unravel a murder. the supernaturals live there because the town supresses their power.
It airs from what it looks like on Fridays, only one episode out so far. the next one airs tommorrow. Thes how is titled Haven though after the town.

More shows to watch-cool! Checking out The Gates now. The story line reminds me a lot about a similar hit TV series in the UK too, Being Human (Seasons 1&2). I'm a huge fan and hope Season 3 returns soon enough.
With The Gates, Haven & True Blood (plus other shows like Hung, Drop Dead Diva...etc) all lined up throughout the week, it does make Sundays come faster. It's almost the weekend again! :D

All I can say about the ending of that last episode is OMG@!
I don't want to spoil it for those in the UK, etc who won't see it until next year (Ann, I know you said you don't mind but the ending to this episode was just too much fun to spoil). I should have seen it coming and way back in my mind I kind of did, it was very satisfying.
I guess it's better to be a telepath than it is to be a vampire or a werewolf or a maenad or whatever else.
And as for the gratuitous shots of shirtless Alcide, keep 'em coming.

And the flirtations between Jesús and Lafayette, yum.
Bill's passion for Sookie is awesome, the way he beat up that scummy werewolf and then smashed that vampire's face into the silver door (why would vamps put silver doors in their house?). Of course Sookie and Bill's passion comes across realistically since in real life they're dating.
I love this show.
One question: the cute blond girl that Jason met, I don't remember the flashback of when he saw her crying on the road. What was that all about?

The ending of that episode just blew me away. The books were awesome the T.V show is equally so.

I guess Franklin is going to make Tara his vampire bride. I don't see how she is going to get away. I kinda like how James Frain has played Franklin as a mentally unstable vampire. But I have liked him since he was on The Tudors. I also think that Russell might just get killed by Eric later on down the line since he recognized his father's crown in Russell's vault. But I have to wonder why Russell is so fixated on Sookie? I am also thinking that the Magister might also get killed, no one seems to like him, poor thing, no one liked him when he was on Oz either.
I wish Jessica and Hoyt would get back together but I am thinking maybe Jessica and Sam's brother might hook up. And Jason is starting to get on my last nerve with blackmailing Andy into making him a sheriff. Idk, sometimes he comes off as an airhead to me.

As far as killing Russell and the Magister, it sounds intriguing but it's a major crime for a Vampire to kill another one so whoever does it would have a price on his head. That sounded like Russell during the flashback Eric had, right?
I was also thinking about how Jason is such an airhead and how can he possibly be Sookie's brother, assuming they both had the same parents and she is such a strong Telepath how can the genes for Telepathy have so totally escaped him to the extent that he is the opposite of a Telepath: an airhead.
I think Russell is so fixated on Sookie, in the same or similar way to how Maryann was, they sense she has a very major power that probably exceeds theirs. Did you see the look on his face during that last scene of the last episode when she did her thing? They haven't seen anything like her.

I thought the Lafayette flirt scenes were poorly directed cause it seemed like two straight actors imitating some Disney version of a gay pickup.
I was disturbed by the image of Tara running away from Longwood. Since its such a famous house it can't just be imaginary set decoration, for me. Longwood was being built as the manor house of a cotton plantation when the Civil War destroyed that slave owning world. Its not really a criticism of True Blood, just more that I found it personally disturbing to see the frightened Tara desperately trying to escape a plantation house in a very antebellum white night gown.
This series is in need of another black character by the way.

Maybe it's just me, but I find segments of Jason really boring me this season. My eyes are on the main Vamps, Wolves, Tara, Sookie and Jessica. Lafayette needs better script lines-bring back his old rebel funk and charm.

I'm loving how Eric is playing Russell, with the shameless flirting. If he ends up killing him it'll bring new meaning to the expression "Revenge is a dish best served cold.'' Russell is older than Eric, therefore more powerful, but I expect Eric will find a way.
Russell's boyfriend had the funniest line when Eric asked him how long they'd been together.
Mariana Klaveno, who plays Lorena, is a very good actress. She really makes the character come alive, no pun intended.
I'm very annoyed that Sookie is not exploring her powers more, I'm sure she can kick Vamp butt if she tried. I guess they're waiting for the right moment.
When Tara bashed Franklin's head it was so believable, the rage inside coming out from having had to put up with his torture and abuse.

1) Mecch I'm so surprised you recognized Longwood... anyone care to guess where those scenes were filmed?
2) Jason is very boring but I contend he has been since season 1
3) I find Lafayette's character pretty well played for a straight man. He's a strong gay character without being so flamboyant as to be unbelievable and the flirtatious aspect of his interaction with Jesus is cute although not necessarily sincere.
4) Eric is going to kill Russell
5) Russel is the King of Mississippi but is still subject to the laws of the vampire world so I'm guessing the magister has power over him politically at least. Russel is also currently the oldest vampire we've been introduced to at 3,000 years old (Godric was 2000, Eric is 1000) Note that Sophie Anne is blaming Eric for selling the V so that she doesn't suffer the wrath of the magister.

Bill was kind to his maker Lorena when she was suffering having to kill him. He said something about her lost humanity and how he would have liked to have known her, which hurt her but touched her, too. (He and Eric both seem to have a suspicious amount of humanity left in them.)
I was sort of touched when Lorena said that Bill never accepted the ways of the vampire, I could see it from her perspective, as another sort of being. Have to remember that one of the background themes is that Vamps are fighting for a place in society, even if there are still an awful lot of pretty nasty vamps around, including Lorena.
I guess the story needs Bill and Sookie's love and for Bill to survive but his real wish seems to be to disappear.
Could he have a satisfying life (undead "life", of course) by the virtue of Sookie's love? He's at war with his very core.

Crystal is a werewolf I'm pretty sure. Jason commented that she was hot to the touch (sookie said the same thing about alcide) and then she started sniffing the air. I still don't find his plot line interesting, maybe if he got turned into a vampire I might like the character a bit more (doubt it). Anyway I don't think they'll change any existing human character into a vampire because it would severely alter the character archetypes they have going.

Speaking of which, is Franklin really done for? Lorena had her head twisted round but didn't have the big death. Would having your head beat to smithereens - but not cut off your body - kill a vamp? Besides, I think Franklin's just really psycho creepy.

He's not yet dead. He wasn't staked nor was his head removed. Also in the previews there was a tag of Tara saying "if you're gonna kill me just go ahead and do it" which I presume was directed at Franklin.

Stretching it, a few guess work twist may be possible. In the trailers to Episode 7 this Sunday;
~It seemed like Sookie "died", which means she will become a vampire? If unlikely, then it would seemed weird seeing Bill turning "human" when the sunlight did not burn him. The story line hereon suggests Sookie has to review her relationship with Bill.
~Tara could be talking to/facing Bill or Eric or someone she seemed familiar with, not necessarily Franklin, although highly likely.
~And Lorena would probably be killed off since she was contracted for only 7 episodes. Hopefully she dies or get banished for feeding on Sookie by the Russell. Getting pissed with her bloody crying anyways. :D

PS: And it does appear Sam's brother was needed for pit bull dog fighting and not molested from my guess work earlier. Too much sex in tRue Blood does make one sex things up whenever & wherever one can get it. :D ;D ;)
PPS: Dunno about Crystal and Jason and dun really care. So far they dun seem to be going far, but knowing Alan Ball, he never waste precious screen time on minor characters. Wow, what an episode with so many surprises. Looks like Bill is not himself when his vamp instincts kicks in and he doesn't even remember almost killing Sookie. Scary. :o
Looking at Sookie and her frolicking pals around the magical pool in her comatose vision, it does appear that she may actually be a Fairy. That would explain many things. That would also mean Jason has fairy blood, just like the rest of us. Guess we are special after all. :D ;) ;D
All in all, it was an intense and very exciting Episode 7 and the ending was really cool. More twists and plot to come. Glad to have Pam back. Wouldn't be vamp enough without her anyways!

From the preview it was really unclear if it was a dream sequence, but it was a shot of him and then a shot of Arlene being held by the throat.

Those blood tears would always make me feel for her, even if she was pure evil. Mariana Kloveno is one heck of an actress (and a scene stealer IMO). And oh how I loved her accent ("No wonder Bill was drawn to you. You're delicious.").

probably because I did the housework during the previous year when I had a roommate, and the 10 yrs before that while my partner worked at his job (not working a job because of the disability lets me play suzy homemaker LOL) makes me a little (too) observant of these things - especially when the show made such a big deal of Sookie's Gran being a clean fiend. (a woman after my own heart LOL). Sookie and Tara did clean the interior of the house in one or two episodes but the exterior has remained mud-splattered for 15 episodes or more I bet.
so you'll know, it's not that I really need to get a life; but I got season 1 and 2 on DVD recently and spent 4 days watching through the entire series up to this point. Because the dirty house got on my nerves, I've noticed how long it has gone in disrepair. Every episode I pay attention to see if the house has been cleaned up yet or not; but what with Sookie being in Louisania and in the hospital, etc, I doubt the house will ever get totally cleaned up again. LOL

i re-watched that scene a couple times (all in the interest of getting the plot down, not looking at naked Eric... yeah, right LOL) and it was some scroll/parchment rolled up between two wooden rods, with decorative pointy (the better for staking someone in the middle of sex) ends.

Only thing that puzzled me was why the Wolf girl Debbie fought Sookie like 2 school girls in a mud wrestling match instead of just simply turning into a wolf to attack Sookie. Weird. ???

I "like" the character Russell and hope he sticks around awhile. I "liked" T-Bag in Prison Break. Shows about evil should have juicy evil characters. Russell has some good menace to him when he's really pissed off.

I read somewhere that since Sookie is a fairy, Jason has fairy blood too. That explains why both are pretty irresistible to their opposite sexes. :)
And I agree, hope Russell sticks around. The excitement picks up when he's around. I wonder how Eric is gonna escape Russell now since Russell is now the oldest most powerful vampire around. Unless of the "authorities" like Nan Fangnigan and others can arrest Russell for killing the magistrate.

Well with Jason, I don't think it's always about the women being attracted to him but instead that he wants to bone anything with a pulse, excuse the pun. But even with fairy blood he still acts like an airhead. And will we ever find out what is going on with Chrystal? She definitely isn't human....
I am liking Afre Woodard as Lafayette's mother. She is a riot. I agree with someone else who said that he may be a witch or something. And with Jesus and his santeria background, well it's going to get interesting that's for sure.
As for Russell and the killing of the magistrate. I am thinking if Eric does not take him out personally that he is going to make sure the Authority finds out about it. And is Hadley a vampire now since Eric bit her? I am wondering what is the storyline with her? Yeah, I know she is Sookie's cousin who was in a drug rehab? Can someone please help me out here?
It was good to see Baby Jessica. And I like when she told Bill she was not leaving. I kinda look at them like a lil family. All they have is each other but Bill needs to school her some more. And something is up with that new waitress. I thought she looked kinda creepy. I also think Tommy is going to try to push up on Jessica sometime in the near future.

Oh my gosh y'all are all going in all these directions that to me the plot doesn't seem to be predicting at all.
Crystal is a shifter, the fact that her father knew Sam and Tommy were shifters pretty much cinches this to me.
The new waitress is basically a clone of Arlene, which is why she was getting along so well with her.
Hadley is not a vampire, if you remember Eric drank a lot of her blood to get the information then fed her some of his to heal her. To turn her he would have had to drain her completely.
Dunno about sookie being able to be turned, but I think she can be since they talked about Bill taking her "light"
Russell will die at the end of this season, didn't you people watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer? The big bad always dies at the end of the season.
I'm not sure why you guys think Alfre Woodard and Lafayette are "magical", the plot needs to have normal human beings in it to contrast the supernatural facets of the other characters.

but on the Lafeyette part, I'm stuck there. Lafayette died originally in the first book. With his name only briefly mentioned once. I do know that witches come into play in the book.
They have plenty of humans though, look at all the townsfolk, Andy and Arlene. and the rest of them.
They've changed most of this all up from the book though so much I'm lost on a lot of where it's going. Some things that aren't mentioned for another couple books are being brought up now. It's really starting to take a detour from the book's. But, I personally like that factor I was able to enjoy the books and now with the show although I know some spoilers in advance I still get plenty of surprises.

Over the last 5 days, not only did I work in the ASO's pantry for a few hrs, manned a health fair for 4 hrs, and spent nearly a full day at an amusement park (Carowinds); but I also read the first 8 books of the Sookie Stackhouse novels. Although I love the books, for the first time in my life, I have to say that I think the video version of something is better than the written word. The way the series expanded the Tara, Lafayette, MaryAnne and Lorena chatacters was well worth it. I perfer Jason being dumb rather than more of a cad like his novel-version was and, living in the South myself, I definitely enjoyed seeing the extra Fellowship of the Sun material protraying them to be the hypocritical, bigoted whack-a-doo's that they are.
However, I thought the series was sticking (fairly) close to the direction of the first few novels (was just waiting for the season cliff-hanger to be Eric's "un-forgettable" issue with the witches) - until King Russell ripped that anchorman's spine out! (however, if you transpose the King of Mississippi with the King of Arkansas, the series might be back on track for the conference at the Pyramid Hotel) Although, I guess, that bit with Hunter is a big stray away from novels too.

Russell is da Bomb! Should get really exciting hereon with a 3000 year old King Vampire zipping around. I believe they dun always stick with the novels for the novelty factor. Just like the original Queer As Folk-UK version. It was one Season but the US version went up to 5 seasons and for good measure too.

Uh, ok, I guess I am off but am wondering how Hellraiser came to his conclusions....What makes you think Chrystal is a shifter? Just cause Tommy and Sam smelled her father? This may be true but couldn't they sniff them out if they were weres or something else? And how are you getting that Holly is a clone of Arlene? How is that possible? Because they have some things in common? And if she is Arlene's clone, who the hell cloned her?
Ok, Hadley may not be a vamp but I coulda swore I heard that "swoosh" like the vamps make when they make a hasty exit. Or did she inherit that from being nibbled on? And now she kidnaps her son because he can read minds too. Where does she think she can hide him? All a vamp gotta do is bite her to find out if they really want to know.
And I hate the fact that Bill knows finally what Sookie is but why we gotta wait til the last episode to find out? I think they are going to drag that out til then. And why can't Lafayette be magical? How is that so farfetched? I don't feel Alfre is just talking crazy, I think she is on to something.
Of course, I loved what Russell did. I think it is messed up that the Authority is not going to help Eric out but I am hoping he will kill Russell tho I will miss him. I was happy for a whole 5 minutes that Franklin was alive though I did not want him to kill Tara. Jason finally did something right.
RIP Franklin, I will mourn you and you will be missed!!!!

Crystal being a shifter is pretty much a foregone conclusion at this point.
1) she's hot to the touch and sniffs the air a la Sam/Tommy
2) Her father knew Sam and Tommy were shifters (most human beings don't know shifters exist)
3) Jason caught one of her relatives eating a raw animal carcass in the kitchen
4) Her cousin was left tied up and escaped. The only thing left behind were his clothes and the rope.
She could be a werewolf but at this point in the storyline I would doubt it.
As for Holly being a clone that was more figurative than literal. They are very similar and that's what I meant by a "clone"
Hadley is definitively not a vampire. She met Sookie in the daytime at an aquarium.
As for Lafayette, he and Tara could be anything, but to keep the story balanced I'm guessing they need to have major characters who are human.

so far the series is running close to the first three books. I see on some TB boards, that some people are really disturbed with the differences; but I just don't think all that much is so different yet (switch king of mississppi with king of arkansas, talbot as vamp instead of human, Lafayette dead, Tara not as close a friend, Hunter appearing much sooner and Hadley not a vamp and it's nearly the same). Right now the story is on track with the third book (well, except for Russell going on TV like that ::) ) heading towards the fourth.
Quinn could possibly show up near the end of next season, I would guess, as he's pretty much in the 4th and 5th books. (I shouldn't have to worry about the still-dirty outside of Sookie's house anymore then after the fire and the repairs LOL) And Bob the cat and Amelia would probably show up later on down the line.
I just started book 9 (with the "Reveal" just happening - not to be confused with the "Revelation" ;) ) and only have one more published book to read. Then I'll be stuck waiting around till each Sunday night ;) If you don't want to re-read the books, Ravhyn, check out the wiki-entry (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Southern_Vampire_Mysteries) to double-check what was happening when. ;)

When I finished off book 5 or 6, I asked my sis-n-law (who loaned me the books) if Bill and Sookie ended up staying together in the end, and she wouldn't tell me. Sigh! It's just as well, as I'm not one to "cheat" and check the last of a book to see the ending early. (damn that honorable Baptist upbringing ROFLMAO)
well, i've read through the were war, the witch war, the FotS battle, the vamp war and now the fae war. Onto the final book (#10 "Dead in the Family"). I sure hope Charlaine Harris is busy working on the next one. ;) On her site, she says she knows how the series will end; but she's still working on the series right now.

I finally gave in and ordered the True Blood boxed set (books 1-8) plus book 9 from Amazon. Book ten isn't yet released as a paperback, so I'll wait for that one. Nine books for £23.49, not too bad! That's actually a savings of £24.50 if bought in a bookshop.
They should keep me busy and out of mischief for a couple days at least. ;D

If you like the Sookie Stackhouse books I would also recommend Laurell K Hamiltons two series. The Anita Blake series, and the Merry Gentry series. There really good as well.

My favorite scenes from the last episode were Tara daring Franklin to go ahead and kill her and the scene at Merlottes's between Hoyt and Jessica. The scenes could not have been more different from each other but both packed a powerful emotional punch and were brilliantly acted.

Ok, was it me or did the dude Russell tricked with looked like Talbot for a minute? I am hoping Eric wins against Russell. I mean I know he's pissed because Eric killed Talbot but he killed Eric's family first. Loved the V scene with Lafayette and Jesus, reminded me of an acid trip. I am glad that Hoyt and Jessica are talking again. Had to laugh when Jessica tossed Tommy in the air. Yeah, I knew she had a blog, they have it on Facebook.
Yeah, I did see that they got married over the weekend which I thought was great. I can't wait til this weekend, the shit is really going to hit the fan, I think.

According to one of the synopses I read on one of the sites linked to above (don't remember which one), Russell purposely found a rent-boy who looked like Talbot and was speaking to the rent-boy as though he were Talbot, saying things like "I'm sorry I wasn't at your death".
I also read somewhere that each season closely mirrors a book, with seasons 1-3 representing books 1-3. If things go the way I hope they will, there will be thirteen or fourteen seasons. So far she's written ten books, but has a contract for thirteen, and says she's already got ideas for a fourteenth. Fingers crossed!

He paid for a prostitute who did look like talbot and when they cut away the actor who played Talbot replaced the guy in the scene. He fades back to the real actor when Russel stakes the prostitute.

so far each season does basically follow the plot laid out in the books. I just polished off all 10 books in 6 days and, as usual with my authors and musicians, now I'm sadly and anxiously waiting on their next published work.
However, at this rate of filming I can't see the series continuing one book per season. (especially with the looong dead time between seasons) The books only cover about 2 yrs worth of time, and so far it's taken 3 years to get through about 6 weeks of Sookie's life. Poor Bill and Eric will be looking a little bit "long in the tooth" ;D by the time they get to filming book 10 or 13 at this rate. LOL Wonder if they would consider a movie or mini-series to speed things along? More than likely they'll film for as long as it's popular and then leave out a lot and tie up the loose ends totally different from the books.

In the books, everyone in Hot Shot, just down the road from Bon Temps, are were-panthers which Jason gets very involved with. ;)

I was just guessing since I did not read any of the books. ;) I'm a big fan of RE and he stole the 3rd Season with his more than excellent portrayal of what a real Vampire should be. His TV debut where he killed the anchorman was worthy enough of an Emmy. :-* If RE goes, sigh, gonna miss him. Well done Denis O'Hare-you're the Vamp !
Next Season of True Blood seems to be more about Witches so guess Vamps will go on Sabbatical. ;D

Of course the finale was on point, who could be disappointed. I am dying to see where things go with Lafayette, Jesus and the sipping of the V. I love it that they made Jesus a brujo. I am with you, Rev, if Hoyt's mother does something to Jessica I'll pitch a bitch too. Not willing to throw no shoes at my gorgeous 46 inch tv though. I know she bought the shotgun but it will do no good unless she has wooden bullets like Jason had. So now I guess Jason is going to be the leader of Chrystal's crew. I am glad that they didn't kill Russell off but he did look funny being southern fried by the sun..lol..Couldn't believe Bill tried to cross Eric and have Pam killed. The cement thing was so Batman. It didn't make sense to Bill and Eric's intelligence to have left him in limbo for a later time. Clearly there's an easy enough escape for Russell and they "should" know that. Eric could have forgiven, but I wasn't buying the logic of that either.
The humans' stories left me entirely more satisfied in this cliff hanger. The supernaturals' stories were all over the place fucked up.

Death may have been "peace" for Russell. Eric wasn't interested in that. By leaving him sundamaged, bound by silver and encased in cement he's essentially tormenting him for "at least 100 years". Bill makes the comment that this is bound to drive him insane.

I think it's because Goderick had said that everyone is at peace when they die and Eric did not want Russell to be in a state of peace but rather that he suffer.

Yeah I got that, but Russell says 100 years is nothing to him. So I kinda understand that the torment wouldn't be as great as those two hoped.
Also, although the character says Talbot was the love of his life, the acting and casting made this hard to believe, for this viewer. Russell is a lot more fun and seriously evil than that whiny Talbot ever was.

I'm now listening to the 3rd Sookie novel, where Russel and the Queen come into the story. It's fun to listen to while doing chores. A nice change from music. And I get to have the great images and actors from the TV series in my brain to flesh out my imagination, so its a pretty rich listening experience.
I highly recommend these audio books to anyone jonesing for a True Blood fix.

Not a bad idea. I just bought the set (books 1-8) for the Kindle --I can't seem to concentrate well with audiobooks. It should give me plenty of reading till the show returns next year.

Love reading, and I'm sorta of new to audiobook versions of novels.
Johanna Parker is a great reader. Her changes in voice really evoke the characters. And then I have TV Series character portrayals to mix in.
Anyway, its a cool way to multitask. I found that I can't listen to an audiobook novel on headphones, however. Its more fun for me just on the radio, like an old radio play.
I think this might actually get me to iron for the first time in 5 years! I hate ironing, but I could do it in the past when I had a TV.
