Finally got an iPad
« on: October 03, 2011, 12:10:35 pm »
After debating whether it was worth the price, I finally decided to get an iPad. I love it!!!   I didn't realise all the things I could do with it (especially for work).  However I now notice that my iPhone looks too small. Bring on iPhone 5!!!

Good for you!

When we travel, we use the ipad as our business computer and international telephone!
They are the best technology we have.
Hell I should use it to connect to my stereo for Pandora.com.

Also if you like to read, they work very well as books. I have about 3,000 novels in my ipad.
Here in the rain forest all books rot, digital is the perfect answer.

Enjoy!

Yes...have a few books. Good for my commute (tube).  But also love being able to edit and comment on work pdf's to send back to the team to fix!  Best non-app app is the FT.

Do motherboards rot in the rain forest as well?

Those are called logic boards in the Apple Universe, not motherboards.

Mine has as well...great product!  I'm amazed at how well I can review documents from work....my work blackberry is gathering dust on the table (would get rid of it completely but need it for work calls).

My iPad has now literally replaced my laptop. I tried to start my laptop to get an old file off it and Windows won't load, not even in Safe Mode. I need to reinstall Windows Vista, then reinstall Windows 7 and just don't want to deal with it right now.

BTW, I am loving iOS5. I particularly like the reader function on web articles (with adjustable font!), the reading list feature, the tabbed browser and the built-in dictionary for web pages. Automatic wifi backup to the cloud is nice too.
