i have medicare/caid so I don't know about aetna; however, if nothing else to check into, most manufacturers have patient assistance programs with co-pay cards that cover that cost. check the appropriate websites for more info.

hope you get some help ;)

If you go to their website they'll have a section where you can see the meds and what tier level they'll fall under.

I have Aetna and also take a one dose a day type of drug (Genvoya), however it is not fully covered.  My out of pocket expense is zero thanks to a copay assistance card given to me by my doctor.

You can also ask your doctor if they have any copay assistance cards, and if they do for what meds.  Then cross reference that info with your insurance's website on the tier level I mentioned.

I despise the song Love is in the Air, you should too.

What drugs are covered for what cost is not the same for all people under the same insurance company.  your employer plays a part in these costs/tiers as well.

For instance, under my last employer I had Anthem BC/BS insurance coverage.  ALL my HIV meds (Atripla, Reyataz and Norvir) were only available under the Specialty Pharmacy.  The cost out of pocket was $75 for each drug, for a 3 month supply.

I am now with a new employer.  Still have Anthem BC/BS, but my drugs are no longer under the Specialty Pharmacy and will cost me $60 each for a 3 month supply.

So -- you see that whatever someone pays under their Aetna plan, does not, necessarily, translate into what you will pay.

You should look into the copay assistance programs.  I didn't for a number of years, assuming that they had an income test.  Well, they didn't -- at least not for my Atripla and Reyataz, so I have been getting my copays back for the last 2 years.  BTW -- they have a pretty hefty amount that they are willing to cover, so you really should check into it.
