New to Kentucky... HIV Treatment Coverage?
« on: June 17, 2017, 06:06:57 pm »
Hello.  I am moving to Kentucky in two months.  Here in Puerto Rico I currently receive HIV treatment for free since my plan covers 60% of the cost, and the ADAP program covers the deductible of about 800.00 because I have an income of 21k.  However I am worried about my treatment since I verified in Kentucky with 550 Ryan White Clinic and they told me that I was only qualified to receive assistance if my income was lower than $60,250 per year... And my income in Kentucky is going to be higher than that (about 66k), but with all the taxes and deductions it goes down really to 40k.  So I am worried that I wouldn't be covered, and 40k income after deductions isn't enough to pay for the treatment myself.  And the Health Insurance Plan that my employer offers provides with a 30% prescription cost... SO my bottle cost 3,066 and I would have to pay 919.00 monthly in deductibles and I guess that some program alike ADAP wouldn't cover that since my income is more than 60,250.00.
Anyone knows about what programs may I qualify to receive assistance with the treatment if my income is around 66k a year?
