I'm puzzled  ???  ???  ???
Can someone help me draw the connection between HIV and which county in Florida you live in.
I know, I know, I'm a California resident, so this one really doesn't apply to me, but are you guys trying to start a separate Forum for "Floridians with HIV"   :D :D :D
Hey - if you guys get a Florida forum, I'm gonna start rounding up the Californians 'cause we wanna get a California forum too!!   ;D ;D ;D

Just moved from there, stayed over by Scott Park in Carol City.

Sorry to hear this, what a bummer.

Oh please.  I livened Salvation up fabulously months after 9/11 by turning out a Taliban inspired Gaultier sarong as a huge head wrap on the dance floor.  They queens didn't know whether to live or gag.

LOL, oh my, that was you?  Nah, I wasn't there, would have loved to see it.  Trust me, the clubs down here haven't been the same for a while.  Too many cha-cha queens and fans of Tina (not Tuner).

Lately South Beach has become a haven for decadent hookers (once they decided to turn downtown into a glitzy area all of them had to find new areas for their franchises) and thugs.

When haven't there been cha cha queens in Miami?  Pa-leez.  Been faggin' it up in MIA since the early 90's.  If you need any foreskin just head over to the CBC in Coral Gables!  We used to turn out these places that weren't even in SoBe but in MIA proper (and I don't mean Space).  How many tourists can lay claim to having visited the legendary Sugar's on W. Dixie Highway and dragging back trade to swim in the Esther Williams pool at the Raleigh?

However, I will admit not having been down since I stopped working so I have no idea what it's like now.  Used to jaunt down yearly.

I used to do bread deliveries to the Raleigh Hotel back in 1994.  I was always amazed at how people slapped down big dollars to stay there.  If they only knew the 5 star kitchen was infested with rats...  With the exception of the Blue Door all them hotels are nothing but facades covering a garbage dump.

BET hosts a lot of events out on SB now.... the place is a mad house.

Probably the biggest dump there is the Fountain Bleu Hotel....  overrated and smells like the 70's..

I miss the old South Beach, back when all the hotels still had jalousie windows and old folks sitting out front on the porch.

I ate at the Blue Door when Madonna was part owner.  But yeah, the first time I visited South Beach the Raleigh, National and Delano was not redeveloped yet and there were still lots of old people milling about.

I think that the Fountainbleau just underwent extensive renovations and is nice now.  I stayed at the Eden Roc a decade ago and it was quite nice.  Bother hotels were designed by Morris Lapidus, but the Fountainbleau was so large that it went very downhill the last 20 years.  Eden Roc had been totally redone when I was there.  Lapidus is also the guy who designed the folded plates, cantilevers and floating slabs on Lincoln Road.

Yes, read about the Fontainebleau's restoration here:  http://www.nytimes.com/2008/11/02/fashion/02HOTEL.html

I use to make deliveries to the Eden Roc as well and yes it is one of the better hotels.  I used to go to the Blue Door also and that was definitely one of the better renovations they did out there.  Of course they had lots of rich investors to make that possible.

Weird story about the Fountainebleu...  I did work as a dispatcher for a high end limosine service back in 2000.  We got a call from the concierge telling us he needed a limo for a high profile rapper that was staying there.  We would bill the hotel directly in these instances and usually the staff at the hotel always confirmed a person's celebrity.

Hell we figured it was Jay-Z or someone.  Our chauffeur for the guy didn't know one rapper from the next and to come find out he was a nobody.  He racked up over $49,000 in hotel stay and limo service over a course of two weeks.

The concierge decided to take matters in his own hands and went to the roof of the hotel and tried to swan dive into the hotel's  pool.  He missed terribly and never was able to go for a nightly swim after that.....  I guess swimming is always out of the question once rigor mortis sets in.
