Dancing With The Stars
« on: August 29, 2007, 11:57:51 am »
The new season lineup was just announced!  It's an ecclectic group, and packed with eye candy (as usual)

And the stars are:

Marie Osmond--I saw her live once.  She is tiny.
"Pretty Boy" Floyd Mayweather--gulp
"Scary Spice" Mel B.
Helio Castroneves--double gulp
Jenny Garth--poor Jenny, not sure who she is
Cameron Matheson--Soap Star
Jane Seymour--Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman (not the queen of England--that one's dead)
Albert Reed--male model
Sabrina Bryan--Cheeta Girl
Mark Cuban--billionaire owner of the Mavericks
Josie Moran--female model
Wayne Newton--Mr. Las Vegas himself

Dolly Parton will be the musical guest in the first week.

I used to work in a County-Western (gay) dance bar back in the '80s.  One of the dance instructors (Russell Forrest was his boy name), in trying to teach me to 2-step, really gave me a lifelong appreciation for the beauty of ballroom dancing.  I've folllowed this show since the first season.  It is great fun.

For a talent show, this one beats American Idol hands down in my book.

Anyone else a fan?

JR
(I'll just let that participle dangle  ;) )
It goes like this
The fourth, the fifth,
The minor fall, the major lift,
The baffled king composing Hallelujah!

FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS LUCY - BRING BACK SCRIPTED TV.

This has been a public service announment for the committee to avoid seeing anymore reality tv shows.

I really enjoy watching the actual dancing.   When the hosts are talking, or the judges, I get up and do something else, or turn down the volume....they waste a lot of time, typical for reality shows.

I guess I'll be pulling for Marie Osmond...

God, it turns me on when I see a guy with such a huge dangling participle.

Mark Cuban needs to just go ahead an buy his own network...he seems so desperate to want to be on TV.

Jane Seymour?  I was just about to ask.  Thanks for clearing that up, JR.

I don't know most of the people on the roster.

I'm basically in agreement with Iggy- bring back scripted TV...please.

I will, however, watch Dolly in anything...so I might tune in for that particular evening.

I fucking love that show...

Apollo Anton Ohno last seasonn rocked. The upcoming lineup seems sucky.

There's always Milo Ventimiglia of Heroes to fawn over instead.
