Welcome to the "Do I Have HIV?" POZ forum.

This special section of the POZ forum is for individuals who have concerns about whether or not they are HIV positive. Individuals are permitted to post up to three questions or responses in this forum.

Ongoing participation in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum (posting more than three questions or responses) requires a paid subscription, with secure payments made via PayPal.

A seven-day subscription is $9.99, a 30-day subscription is $14.99 and a 90-day subscription is $24.99.

Ok Ann,Andy and Rapid rod please I need your advice. I went to a strip club where I received a blow job that lasted about 1 minute. The stripper tried to give me oral with out the condom first and I told her I do nothing with out a condom so she got up and came back with a durex condom. I opened it and put it on and she began deep throating me kind of rough. I stopped her because I was starting to feel uncomfortable. I took the condom off and she grabbed it and said she will throw it away because, she didn't want to get in trouble by her boss. I went home and poured rubbing alcohol all over my penis to see if it stings or burn from an open cut or minor scratch and it didn't.  I have bad anxiety and started freaking out wondering was there a tiny hole in the condom did it break. I know when I took off the condom i didnt see any whole or tares. I am married and feel like I just made the mistake of a lifetime. I thought i was smart by wearing a condom obliviously not.  Please help me with some good advice. I guess I am even more scared thinking about all the other men she probably gave blow jobs too being that she is a stripper/ CSW.
This will never happen again. 

1. In any way possible could I have contracted HIV from this situation?

2. It felt like her teeth got into me a little bit. Is it possible to get HIV if she bit me a little? Once again I had no scrapes or scratches on my penis.

3. I have read about someone being infected from a bite is it true?

4. Do you think I should get tested over this situation?

5. Do you think I can resume my sex life with my wife?

Getting a blow job is not a risk for HIV so you do not need to test .


ALTHOUGH YOU DO NOT NEED HIV TESTING AT THIS TIME, anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

You were more than safe , you do not need to use a condom for oral sex because getting a low job is not a risk for HIV , you did not have a risk . I promise that if I thought you had even a slight risk I would tell you so .  ;)

  You cant get HIV from a bite . HIV is transmitted sexually from unprotected vaginal and  anal sex .

No , its not true

No .

  Yes .

Andy do you agree with Jeff as well about my situation?  I think am just hAving bad anxiety attacks. I have never cheated on my wife until now, however I never want to bring her any std. I know I took the condom off and didn't see nothing wrong with it when I told her to stop. It only lasted a minute with the condom. We never did anything else I think my anxiety is making my mind play tricks on me. Condoms don't have little holes they only have big rips when it tears. Please Andy can you please review my thread and give it your assessment?

Snow, I am in complete agreement with Jeff's no risk for HIV assessment of your experience. Like many other straying husbands and partners, I suspect your real problem is guilt. Listen, you did what you did and you can't undo. Do everyone a far including your wife and let go of this concern and get on with your life. There's no need for HIV testing nor for further concern about it on your part. Really.
