Title: life insurance
Post by: LiveLaugh on April 25, 2012, 12:02:02 pm
I was wondering if any one has any information on Life Ins?  I know I can live many many years.....but with the recent diagnosis was wanting to get additional coverage. Called my local State farm agent....and of course I am all of a sudden un-insurable! Amazing. All the diabetics in this world non-compliant.....and bc I have HIV, I can't get ins. Anyway.....I digress.  So....I am in NC US!  Thanks in advance!

Get a job with a company that offers a group policy. I was able to get a life policy with up to 3x my annual salary with no underwriting required. Only downside is if I quit or get fired, I can't take the policy with me.

There are no other credible alternatives.

You can lie on an app for one of the companies that offers no medical exam life insurance. Note: That is fraud . If you make it through the two year contestability period and continue to pay premiums, the company is obligated to pay the death benefit.

If you have EVER been denied for medical or life insurance because of your HIV status (or any other medical reason), that information is already in your CLUE report, and your policy will be cancelled nearly immediately.

Just for your information, I also have diabetes besides HIV, and am compliant.  I cannot get life insurance, not only because of HIV, but also because of diabetes.  Not all diabetics are non-compliant, I would really watch what I'm posting.

I am currently under the Service Member's Group Life Insurance (SGLI) policy.  I believe I have between 60-120 days after I separate from service to convert that policy to the Veteran's Group Life Insurance (VGLI) from the Department of Veteran's Affairs without needing a medical examination, so long as it is within that window.  I'm lucky in that regard.

Life Ins is BULLSHIT, if you don't have a family, Kids and your not married, and you don't own any real property or land, you really don't need it, that is for the living and not to DEAD, I use to have it, until I wised up....just saying  ::)

Under my plan, a $400,000 policy is only $27 a month.  I'm not married and don't have any children or land, but one day I will.  Personally, it makes sense to maintain my life insurance as I would almost certainly be uninsurable due to pre-existing conditions if I were to cancel my policy now or fail to convert it within the "no medical examination required" window.

Well @ least your optimistic, I used to be that way about Life Ins. only to find out that the pocily I was paying for 25 yrs. wasn't worth SHIT, due to me having AIDS, so I kinda wasted 25 yrs. for insurance premiums for NOTHING,

hope this won't happen to you, so good luck, I hope it pans out the way you want it to (it may not tho) so keep that in-mind, once they find out you have AIDS it won't be any good, and it really doesn't matter if you didn't have AIDS before you got that policy ( like I did)  cuz that's what happened to me  >:(
