Sex and HIV & HPV
« on: October 31, 2006, 07:43:52 am »
How does one continue having a sex life if they have both HIV and HPV? Does a condom provide adequate protection against HPV?

Just curious

The straight up answer to your question is NO.

What can be done is to keep the HPV under control, by removing any growths, then you can be fairly sure that you are not going to pass it on to anyone..  This of course is not the case for HIV, as you obviously know by now.

The Bible contains 6 admonishments to homosexuals,
and 362 to heterosexuals.
This doesn't mean that God doesn't love heterosexuals,
It's just that they need more supervision.

Hey Molten,

Moffie has hit the nail on the head with this one. What makes HPV so unique is that it is spread through sexual skin to skin contact- no intercourse is needed to contract the virus.

His advice is indeed accurate and helpful.

Make the BEST of each and every day!

Well you can continue to have a sex life, but it needs to be rethought as posted above.  I believe, but could be wrong, that condoms do help, but only if they cover the areas we are concerned about and we are not yet sure, and need not be told, what areas we are talking about.  I kept activating hpv by shaving my d..k.  Once I stopped shaving, the visible problem went away.  As far as I know, however, the virus is still with me.  Since the affected area was in front, wearing a condom during oral sex should stop the spread to another person.  Ditto wearing a condom during active anal sex.  Win

Thank you to all who responded.

I don't know anything yet, but I just wanted to see if there is any form of sexual/love life for those that have HIV & HPV. I go to the doctor this coming Tuesday to have him check things out. On a side note: I will also find out my lab results with medication.

Trying not to feel like damaged goods in the mean time.

Thanks,
Molten

Yenta alert, invoking the spirit of Michael Callen!  I hope everyone can smile now that 'damaged goods' are still cute, so let's get out into the field one more time (for those of you who are not yet hitched, that is).  Win
