Title: Body to Body massage Risk
Post by: jaypo on April 20, 2024, 12:33:08 pm
Hello everyone,

I recently had an experience that has left me concerned about potential HIV exposure, and I'm unsure whether I should consider taking PEP (post-exposure prophylaxis) in my situation. Last night, I went for a body-to-body massage where the masseuse was nude, and it lasted for about twenty minutes. She was sliding her body over mine, and our genital areas made contact during the massage.

I tried to avoid direct contact by letting her rub against my thigh, but I did feel some tingling sensations due to her shaving. Towards the end, she positioned herself in a way that I felt like I may have touched her wet vulva with my penis, and I immediately asked to stop.

Do you think there is a risk of HIV transmission in this scenario? Would I have noticed if there had been penetration without a condom, considering I was trying to be cautious? Asked this question because i've never penetrated without a condom.
Last detail, i'm circumcised.

Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all, and I apologize if this is lengthy or if it's a common topic for discussion.

HIV is transmitted by unprotected anal/vaginal sex or by sharing injection needles.

In regards to your situation, you did NOT have any risk for HIV.
PEP is not needed.

Have a great day,
Michael

Reducing Your HIV risks:
With no exceptions, use condoms correctly and consistently for anal or vaginal intercourse
Talk to a healthcare provider about PrEP as another layer of protection

Get tested yearly for HIV and other STIs.
If you don’t use condoms and/or PrEP, test more frequently

Some sexual practices described as safe in terms of acquiring HIV still pose a risk for other more easily acquired STIs. It is possible to show no signs or symptoms from an STI so testing is the only way to know.

Get tested at least yearly for STIs, including but not limited to HIV, and more frequently if condomless intercourse occurs.

What’s the ONLY way to know if you’ve been infected by HIV or an STI?
Get tested.
