Miners screwed to support Romney.
« on: August 28, 2012, 03:36:45 pm »
This little factoid chills me to the bone:

Murray Energy Miners Allege They Had To Give Up Pay To Attend 'Mandatory' Romney Rally
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/08/28/century-mine-romney-ohio-mandatory_n_1836674.html

Now if you read the allegations, of course its the mining company that screwed its workers.

But it makes me wonder --- just how many Potemkim Villages make up the reality of Mitt Romney's view of the world, and his deluded obsessive belief that the world needs him to be US President.

These coal companies really are evil.  You always hear repubs and coal companies claim what great jobs these are and how good the pay is.  However, most of these minors live in the most depressed areas.

If you have the chance you should check out the Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine in West Virginia. The history of mining is fascinating. They probably have something similar in Kentucky.

I've heard of that place.  When my brother lived in the Norfolk, VA area, we would always stop in Beckley for a driving break.
