Title: hi.
Post by: peterhelms on September 16, 2009, 03:47:08 pm
For those who dont know  my boyfriend is positive.
He is not on meds yet, A year ago he started having some sinus problems, he  did some tests and was ok.
This week  he had  some xrays done to check on his sinus and they put liquid to do the rays to see what he has because he still has some sinus problems.
Today he got his test back  and at the end of the report it says that it could be  splenic linphoma , linfopatia tumoral   in spanish.( we come from a spanish apeaking country.....it didnt say he had that, but that it could be....im scared and clueless.
We have an appointment for the doctor nexxt monday.......Could ut be some kind of cancer ?
If anyone knows anything about this i appreciate the imput..
Thank you.

Peter,

Here is some information on Splenic Lymphoma:

http://www.lymphomainfo.net/nhl/types/smzl.html.

Yes ,it is cancer, however, it is treatable. But before getting too worried, wait to see if in fact that is the diagnosis. There are plenty of tests to determine a definitive answer.

Best to you and your boyfriend,

Are you sure about the translation? It does not make sense if his problem is in the sinuses that the diagnosis has to do with the spleen.

Peter, if your bf is +, and you're not, you may want to post in the "Someone I care about has HIV" part of the forum.

By the way, I would definitely talk to the doctor about your concerns regarding your boyfriend's recent medical tests.  Good luck.

actually i translated it wrong .
at the end of the report it says.....that it could be linfopatia tumoral   or translated would be lymphoid tumor.
The test were done on his head and neck, so what i wrote before  about splenic was wrong.
