Atriple Timing

I know this might be stupid but I am beginning to worry about resistance.  I take Atripla, and have been undetectable.  I take it anywhere from 6am-8am, when I wake up.  Should I be worried about does times as they are not exactly at 7am where I try to take it on the dot?

Just I'm nervous bc I recently got labs drawn and this will be second lab since my first UD. I want to make sure it stays that away and hoping that the hour before or after my usal timing doesnt make a difference.

Hi PPP,
i dont think u have anything to worry about...my doctor says that taking it an hour or two different doesn't hurt you.  Just get back on track and try to take it around the same time.  If it bothers you still you can always consult with a pharmacist to see what their thoughts are and give your doctor a call.  my doc advised me originally that it wouldn't hurt to be off an hour or two from time to time.

I have been on Atripla for over a year and usually take it between 10pm and 11:30 pm - I have never had a problem in regards to viral load - been UD since starting it.  Doc has also told me that an hour before or hour after should cause no harm.

My taget for taking my daily dose is 10pm. I usually ends up being being between 10 and 12. If I'm tired and going to bed early I might take it before 9, but that doesn't happen very often. On very rare occasions I have fallen asleep on the sofa watching some TV and don't take it until the morning. I beat myself up a bit when that happens. So far it's been ok.

I've been told that it's best to take Atripla just before bedtime making certain, of course, that you are meeting the eating restrictions that are supposed to enable the med to work best.  Nonetheless, I have taken at various times, usually between 9 pm-12 pm without any issues regarding it's effect.  The dreams can be weird sometimes, but it is a great medication.  I have excellent prescription coverage, so I am only paying a small co-pay for a 3-month supply.  I don't know how anyone that would have to pay the full amount for the drug would ever do it.  According to my statements, it is about $1200 a month which comes out to about $42 a pill.  I would have thought that the price would have come down by now, particularly for those folks who cannot afford to pay the full price for it.  I've not had to check into any services to provide assistance so I am totally ignorant about how some people are able to afford the medication.

My latest script that i'm picking up tomorrow shows online that my insurance paid $1629 of the cost and my copay is $60 for a total of $1,689 (of course, the Atripla copay plan picks up the $60 for me), so my total out of pocket is $0.

yeah they are expensive little buggers.  I got a call from CVS the other day asking if i was ready for a refill, this was shocking to me since i still have about 3 weeks left on my previous 90 day supply.  i guess CVS wants that 3500.00 from my insurance, they usually dont call me to refill a prescription... i went ahead and got them so i have extra built up for a 'just in case' situation.  ya never know.

I take it just like you do.  My doc said a 2 hour window is ok, but mostly I take it regularly within 60 minutes or so.  I've stayed UD since beginning.
