Title: Lipid numbers going up
Post by: surf18 on December 08, 2012, 07:44:07 am
Glucose is now 108 and has been the last 4 labs. In the last 5 labs my HDL is gone from 53,50,49,47,44.
LDL has gone from, 100,108,103.112,109.
So some bad trends here.
Is it meds? Who knows. IM on Truvada, and Selzentry. Have been since AUg 2010.
I also asked my dr if these Lipid numbers that are becoming not so good are a precursor to fat redistribution issues. He was not sure.
Anyone have any idea of whats going on? ANy idea's of how to make the numbers better naturally. No more pills.
My workout program has not changed, I lift 4 days a week and cardio the other 3. My eating and drinking has not changed either.
Thank you

I'd like to hear some info on this as well.  My cholesterol has been fairly good up to about a year ago.  i can't remember all the numbers, but i know they are not good as he tells me so.  I do know my bad cholesterol is supposed to be under 200, i believe its sitting at 240.  I could be wrong on the number.

I workout about 3 to 4 times per week, not body-builder style, but cardio and some weights.  He told me to lose 5 pounds and monitor what i was eating and when.  i just went back yesterday for him to test it again. I've eaten better and lost about 3 to 4 pounds, but i don't feel like its going to be any better.

So i'd like to hear some folks suggestions, i'd prefer to not take another pill myself.

Common-
The trend is that they are getting worse each lab. I have used two labs as well.

Agree with common ground, the trend is that your cholesterol is near enough normal not to worry about it - matt

Thanks Newt. My worry really is that yea they are still ok numbers but each lab they get worse and one day I'm going to wake up and there going to be awful if they stay on this upward/downward trend. Im kind of proactive.ha

Try adjusting your diet it might help those number move in the right direction.
