HEP C Testing
« on: October 13, 2008, 07:21:08 am »
Can anyone tell me how long the wait time should be from possible exposure to getting tested f :(or it, I only want to go through this once during this lifetime, the HIV+ things seems to me anyway to not be as major an issue as HEP C. God I hope i don't have it.

See here:

Tests to diagnose hepatitis C

Handy summary table

Two negative hep C antibody tests 26 weeks apart with no possible exposure between indicates you do not have hep C

Thank you, I don't know that i can deal with 26 weeks of anxiety at this point, so i will probably stick my head in the sand and assume as long as my every 3 month blood work shows my liver to be okay, I'll go with that until i'm in a better head space.

HCV RNA test will be positive in as little as 1 to 2 weeks after exposure. If this test is negative for Hep C - then you do not have it.
