reassurance help
« on: September 30, 2017, 04:04:25 pm »
hello, and thank you to all  community here helping those in need.

long story short im a bi 35 male with my last encounter being unprotected anal sex at the end of December 2015, the guy claimed he was std and hiv- only to find out later he had a scare him self when i developed i ring worm rash about a month later and stressed out and proceeded to turn into psoriasis type rash on elbows and knees, i do have a history of getting rashes but it was never permanent. now i have taken and lost count at 7 Oraquick test with most done after 3 months and recent one on Sep/12/2017 with all Neg results, now every time i hear the words hiv or aids even if its pertaining to a health commercial or political news i associate it being a sign from god (crazy right). now my question is can i just simply trust these test? i read an earlier post on here that that their have been no known cases of someone not being able to produce antibodies in this "Decade" ?? what does this mean? this freaked me out and finally decided to come here and see if i can get some reassurance if this actually does exist or am just being paranoid as usual, i know science say i can trust these test but scared if in fact this could happen.

thank you for the feedback and hopefully this could help other people in my situation.

Any approved antibodies test taken 3 months post exposure is conclusive.

My advice is stop reading rubbish online. I mean it 10 years, what utter horseshit. There are also people online who believe aliens gave them HIV  :o But you don't panic everytime you watch TV that "ET" is going to probe you without a condom either I hope.

Remember to test at least yearly not only for HIV but also STI's and use condoms and lube for any intercourse. Move on with your life, stop worrying about a problem you don't have.

Thank you for the reassurance and the relief you bring to thousands of people that visit this forums but my main question still stands is it possible for someone to not develop any antibodies? or is this a myth like aliens probing people lol any way your freaking awesome jimdublin i truly mean it, i hope you win the lottery cause the sigh of relief just by reading your words are worth millions to many people.

Thanks.

This belongs to myth same as ET. 99.98%. of people have a detectable antibodies level by 3 months.

The only exceptions or 00.02% are people with very spesific medical conditions that you do not have, if you did you would not be posting here  ;)

Relax.

Hi

Your post was removed and you have been given a warning for posting outside your own thread and also in regards to the nature of the content.

I am only going to tell you this once and consider it a warning and an advice.

Stop reading crap online!!! The problem with stories and accounts are they are anecdotal, and there are a number of reasons why someone might not tell the full story, or only part of it. This could be because of admitting to something they are not ready or willing to admit/face up to out or of shame or other reasons.

Its hard enough for most being diagnosed and as a result i have seen some wild claims such as - Toilet seats and aliens, and never had any risk whatsoever stories - Also people claiming different times it takes to become positive to avoid facing truths, and as for symptoms I have even known a guy to claim that HIV made one of his leg shorter.  Its all nonsense, paranoia and absolute rubbish.

People very poorly understand or judge the real risks, and dismiss events as a risk when they should not. Anyhow whatever the reason might be that someone has a story, it means nothing to you.

Stick with facts, and science, stop looking for a concern you do not have.

Start looking after yourself, start using condoms correctly going forward and as a routine start testing for easier to transmit STI at least yearly and whilst you are at it for HIV.

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:
Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, every time, no exceptions.

Keep in mind that some sexual practices which may be described as ‘safe’ in terms of HIV transmission might still pose a risk for transmission of other STI's, so please do get fully tested regularly and at least yearly for all STI's including but not limited to HIV and test more frequently if unprotected intercourse occurs

Also note that it is possible to have an STI and show no signs or symptoms and the only way of knowing is by testing.

More information on HIV Basics, PEP, TaSP and Transmission can be found through the links in my signature to our POZ pages, this includes information on HIV Testing

Kind regards

Jim

Educational questions
« Reply #5 on: November 24, 2017, 08:04:18 pm »
Hello have been browsing through your forums to ease my mind  and assure my self that the 8+ negative Oraquick test i have taken are in fact conclussive all of witch jave been taken before and most taken after 3 months from my at risk(unprotected sex) exposure in november 2015 but ran into 2 post that have me worried.

1) can "elite controllers"  stay off the radar of oraquick test

2) why does cananda have such low standards on oraquick test

And last ran into a post on this forum about an HiV+ person testing negative after 2 years while on hiv medication, i thought once you are postive you will always test postive.

So can i count my 8 neg oraquick test as accurate with my last one being done this september 2017? Could i be a elite controller? I have read the elite controllers can still get other health issues and the reason i ask this is because after my risk exposure i got a really bad ring worm rash and after that went away every once in a while i get psoriasis type like rashed on my joints whitch i thoight was psoratic arthratis.

Once agan thank you.

Do not post about this matter again or you will be banned from this site.  You have been warned previously by Jim.

I have merged your posts.

This forum provides risk assessments, so I can't address your other issues.  This forum also does not assess symptoms, since symptoms of HIV infection, if the

I would consider eight Oraquick tests taken up to two years past whatever you perceive as a "risk" activity to be conclusive.
