Title: AMG 2012 - Site Location Preference ---- OFFICIAL THREAD

Hi All:

Exactly one year ago (September 9, 2010) the AMG Preliminary Site Location Preference thread was started - so, I think it is only appropriate to start AMG 2012 Preliminary Site Location Preference thread this evening... Please read the information below.  Also, when providing the information below, also note that it would also be good to provide a time of year (month) that you would recommend for AMG 2012.  So, here we go.........

Please use this thread to state your site preference(s) for the 2012 AMG.  PLEASE LIMIT YOUR YOUR RESPONSES TO A MAXIMUM OF THREE LOCATIONS THAT YOU WOULD LIKE CONSIDERED FOR SITE LOCATIONS TO HOST THE 2012 AMG.  Also, include a time of year (month) next to your site selection ---  so, try to present your info as follows:

Example:
Site                          Time of Year
ABC Land                             August
Candyland                             Sept
Never Neverland                    July


Please do not use this thread for any other conversation, topic discussion, etc.  This thread will allow for the gathering of a list of potential sites for AMG 2012 - this list of potential sites will be narrowed down to the Top 3 locations for a future voting thread to be established.  Then we can discuss rational behind the selections (i.e. cost factor, distance, things to do, weather)

To allow ample time for preferences to be made and to narrow down the list based on those preferences - let's accomplish this particular part (naming preferences) by October 20, 2011.

Lots of things to do in each of them,  affordable accommodations, and not very expensive at all    ;D

It appears Washington DC just might win out.  If so, may I recommend the Vista Hotel?  It was here that former Washington, D.C. Mayor Marion Barry famously uttered "the b---- set me up" after being caught in an FBI sting.... Barry was brought to trial on 14 drug charges, but was convicted on only one count of cocaine possession. After serving a six-month federal prison sentence, Barry re-emerged in politics to be re-elected to Mayor of Washington, D.C., in 1994. everyone's votes/choices count at this point. ;)

Right now (at least until 10/20!!) is when everyone and anyone can get into the discussion - and make a difference. Don't have the money to travel too far? Offer up choices around your area and AMG might just come to you this year. Know a great city and know all the right places and attractions to vist? Offer up that choice and you just might become our un-official AMG "tour guide" around town.

Washington DC  is fine, it will be a very nice drive up for Bob & I, he said he wanted to come to support me, if that's ok w/ you all he doesn't have AIDS and has been my partner for the last 18 yrs.   :)

Of course Bob would be welcome.  A number of negative partners have attended over the years, including my partner Sid in Seattle this year.  The more the merrier -- besides, someone has to be there to keep you in line.  ;)

Hi Dennis...From the beginning of the forum AMG's we have been welcoming not only to the HIV+ from literally all over the world but also their supporters and loved ones.  I believe I speak for everyone who has attended when I assure you that Bob will be most welcome.

Since Charleston WVA is a distant last, I'd also like to change that option to Nashville. :D  And I was so anxious to see Annie bungee jump and go white water rafting.
