I'm male and on June 6th I met a guy online and wet met to have oral sex. He told me he was married and disease free but I really don't know his status. Maybe he don't either. I performed unprotected oral sex on him for maybe 10 mins without ejaculation. Maybe some Precum. Not for sure. I have a full top denture and decent bottom teeth. I may have a small cavity on one of my molars that bother me sometimes but goes away quickly. I have been very stressed out and scared over this incident. I went to my public std clinic on June 13 because of a slight soar throat. They don't do oral swabs for stds but they gave me pills and shot for oral std symptom to be safe. My Question is:
 
1. What are the chances of me getting hiv from this exposure? I hear my risk is low but I am scared I could be one of the few who test positive. This has been my only exposure since I tested negative about a year ago.
 
2. Does having a denture or a small cavity increase my risk?
3. I plan to get antibody test 90 days post exposure. Should I test? I'm having anxiety over this incident.

You have not had a risk, as oral sex is not a risk for HIV infection.

The risk factors for HIV are ...

Sharing IV drug needles immediately after use.
Unprotected anal and vaginal sex.
Mother to child during or shortly after birth.
Very specific healthcare situations.

A denture or small cavity does not matter as you did not have a risk.  HIV is very fragile and cannot be transmitted outside of the body.  Changes in temperature and   pH damage the HIV instantly and render it unable to infect.  The mouth is another barrier as it contains various proteins and enzymes that alter the HIV and render it unable to infect.

If this is your only concern, you do not need to test, as you did not have a risk.

Anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to HIV testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start.  As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine HIV tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than HIV.  Some of the other STDs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid HIV infection. It really is that simple!

I'm a 44yo married male who performed oral sex on another married male. He ejaculated in my mouth and I swallowed. What are the chances of me getting hiv if the guy I gave oral sex to had an std such as gonorrhea? This happened on Jan.19. I started to get a slight soar throat on Jan24. I have anxiety or this encounter. I'm stressed about being moraly wrong with my wife. Would it be safe to have sexual relations with her or not? Idon't want to infect her with hiv or stds. The guy said he was hiv neg & std free.

The real risk is other stds other than HIV … You did not have a risk for HIV in this specific incident but be sure to get checked out for HIV and other stds as part of your regular healthcare checkups . You can read about HIV testing here …
