Having just been diagnosed last November and starting treatment this post is truly amazing. I am still coping with my new status and trying to take it a day at a time. Especially because I am currently not at home and dealing with all of this in a country where the stigma surround HIV is very high. Reading your posts keeps me focused and helps calm my anxiety when my thoughts run away from me. I am thrilled that you are thriving and I wish the same for everyone in this amazing community. Keep at it and thank you for sharing your warmth with us!!!!

Init,

Great to hear your post, and that your doing so well!!!  I was diagnosed a similar time to you ( November 2013) and also in a dark place for a long time. I found help on this forum from so many helpful people, really was a savior .

Im doing great as well physically and mentally . I couldn’t of imagined this years back then. For anyone who is in a similar position keep the Faith , if anything my diagnosis has helped me become a better human being. More aware and caring to people in tough times physically and even harder for those to understand going through it mentally.

Everyone we meet in life is going through battles of their own that we will generally know nothing about. Just this makes me want to share a smile when possible, be kind.

When you have hit “rock bottom” it sure does give you an appreciation for all the small, beautiful things with life.

Wishing you and other all the best.

Regggie

I discovered exactly 1 year ago to be +, the first few months were hard as I was shocked......this forum and local forum have helped me a lot as I have not told anyone  about my status and I am ok with it....now I am back on track with normal life, have plans for the future as before, I might have to plan extra sometime because of the condition, but life is good for now.....
