What is my risk?

Hello I am new to this forum, and I think you are doing a great service. I had a potential exposure I guess you could say. I performed fellatio on a man of unknown status, it lasted maybe 10-15 minutes at most. There was no pre-cum that I could tell and there was no ejaculation at all. This was the only act performed and was the first time I have done this. My gums bleed a little only when I brush sometimes not all the time I don't have any scars or lesions or anything in my mouth. It has been about 10-12 days after and i think I am experiencing symptoms which I'm inclined to say is anxiety subconsciously I think. I was aware of my status up until this incident. Would you recommend testing for this or not?

Whatever is causing any symptoms you may have has nothing to do with HIV. Your saliva contains over a dozen elements and proteins which very effectively prevent the transmission of viable HIV.

Sexually the only confirmed risks for the transmission of HIV are unprotected vaginal and anal intercourse. As long as condoms are used properly for those activities you will be well protected.

You're worrying needlessly and there is no need for HIV testing at this time.

Hello, Well if I do decide to test which I am still debating not because don't value your judgement but more for a piece of mind. When do you suggest I take it and given the circumstances metioned above do you feel it will be negative?

If you have a legitimate HIV risk -and you haven't - a test at six weeks is considered almost definitive. Of course, a three month window still exists for certainty.

Again, there was no risk int he events as you describe.
