Fingering and kissing concern
« on: June 11, 2007, 02:51:35 pm »
About  one month ago i went to a strip club. I got a couple lap dances. The girl started kissing me and i started fingering her. I am really concerned i am at risk of HIV. I had no visisble cuts or sores however i did have a red spot of some sort ( i think it might be a spider angioma). I am really paranoid about this and all i seem to think about is getting HIV. Can someone please help me? I have read lots of stuff on the internet and have called an aids hotline but i keep getting mixed information. I have read the lessons and i read you can get hiv through vaginal fluids, blood etc. I am  just paranoid that maybe blood or vaginal fluids got into my hand.

There is absolutely no cause for concern about HIV transmission in this incident. Zero. Zilch. Nada.

However, what your concern does reveal is that you need to become better informed about the real risks for HIV transmission. Please read our lesson on Transmission. There's a link to it in the Welcome thread which opens this section.

This epidemic is going to be around for a long time to come and everyone needs to be up on the real risks.

This time out you have no cause for concern.

Cheers,

No this certainly not a risk for HIV infection. Please read our transmission lessons.

1.) what if i had sex but i dont know about it (if i was drunk or something.
2.) someone could have pricked me with a needle

scared,

If you were so drunk you couldn't remember having sex, you were probably too drunk to get it up to have sex in the first place. Excess alcohol interfers with a man's ability to get an erection.

The whole thing about people getting stuck by needles is nothing more than an urban myth.

I suggest you seek out the assistance of a mental health care professional to help you deal with your hiv anxieties. They are not grounded in science. There is nothing more we can do for you here. Sorry.

Look Scared,

You can post as many ridiculous situations as you want. Your questions have already been answered and all the other information you need is contained in the links found in our Welcome Thread.

You need to understand that we are not simply going to post piecemeal responses to every nonsensical question you manage to invent to feed your anxieties and fears surrounding HIV. Not only that, you needn't think that you'll be permitted to use this forum in such a way. You won't be.

As you've been told already, if you cannot overcome your fears about HIV you should seek the services of a mental health professional. We cannot provide you with that sort of support.

Read the lesson on Transmissions. You get all of the basics there.

Please don't load us down with a lot of "what if" scenarios. Those are endless. We prefer to deal with real situations and respond accordingly.

Get educated about transmission by reading that lesson, follow what is said there and you'll be fine as far as being safe from HIV transmission.

scared,

Hiv is a fragile, difficult to transmit virus that is mainly transmitted INSIDE the human body, as in unprotected anal or vaginal intercourse.

The outer covering of hiv must be intact in order for it to latch on to only certain, very specific cells of the body. When hiv is outside the body, small changes in temperature, pH and moisture levels all very quickly damage the outer covering, rendering hiv unable to be successfully transmitted.

Getting a lap dance is NOT a risk for hiv infection.

Kissing is NOT a risk for hiv infection.

Fingering is NOT a risk for hiv infection and it doesn't matter if you have cuts on your hands or not.

You have NOT had a risk for hiv infection.

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together. To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex with a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through all three condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

Although you do NOT need to test over your lapdance incident, anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results. Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!
