I also didn't get the ending to Silent Hill. Another disappointment for me was The Hills have Eyes, I'm glad I didn't pay money to go see it. I hope that Horrorfest comes to my town but more than likely it will probably skip dreary Erie. Needs to pay attention when the commercial comes on so I can get the addy.

Queen, You're in luck!  I think you're in Erie, right?

PENNSYLVANIA
Erie    Franklin Mills 14
Erie    Cinemark Tinseltown 17

BTW, The only thing scary about the Hills Have Eyes was when they flashed pictures of the mutated fetuses.  It was such a teaser to have those scenes in the beginning and then go w/ some hokey storyline.  Who the hell drives down a dusty road in NM w/ a 5th wheel trailer?  They all deserved it too!   :)

ChaplinGuy
, I never would have guessed.   :o

AlanBama - From your movie selections, I bet you'd like Bram Stoker's Dracula.  Great costumes, acting and story.

MSPspud~~

Thanks for the info. Is it playing the same dates nationwide? Btw, after I finally sat through it, I came to like Bram Stoker's Dracula. My favorite part is when Dracula is licking the blood off the razor, how he does it so quick and the facial expressions he makes is hilarious to me.

I also use to like Tales from the Crypt Demon Night and Bordello of Blood. I think Billy Zane is sexy as hell. I also liked the first Creepshow, has that on dvd.

Guys,
If you're squeamish, you should perhaps take some precautions i.e. medications? before seeing this movie!  In London, things are not going so well and it is not only with the ladies...that the fainting is happening! :(

Yes, there were parts of it that were that good.  I even squealed and squirmed a few times.

MSP's a cutie, for sure...but I'm no homewrecker-  I'm just jealous of his domesticated bliss-type situation.

As for people passing out in the theatre....wimps.  I'd be howling!

... ahem.

As the self-proclaimed horror movie expert of the forum (Seriously, please. I started going to horror movie conventions when I was like nine. I was out of place, almost got stepped on, but hey.) I'd like to extract a few excellent examples from my vast array of knowledge.

 :D

May is an excellent recommendation. Throughly disturbing, more than a little unrealistic - but it doesn't take away from how much it scares you. And it will, just because it'll make you think twice about the quiet girls you never paid attention to. It's not badly gory, but it might make you nauseous anyway. It will fuck with your head.

Dead Birds is interesting only for those that are experienced in the horror genre and want something a little bit different. Interesting concepts, even more interesting special effects and it even has an amusing twist.

Pet Sematary is not uncommon, but some people haven't seen it anyway. Based off a Stephen King book. It's about an old Native American burial ground near a pet cemetery up in the woods that brings back to life anything that is buried in it's soil - only they're a tad bit different when they come back, uh huh.

The Eye is really good. If you don't mind dubbing or subtitles. It gave me the creeps, and there was a lot of character development that really made me care about the characters and what happened to them enough so that I was on edge the entire movie hoping they were okay. Pretty sick images, as well. Lots of death.

Dead Alive is a joke. Seriously. But it was made to be a joke and I think it's fucking awesome. It's officially the goriest movie ever made. However, it's other perks include evil claymation monkeys, pregnant zombies

MSP- Being from NM, I can tell you that  we have way more dirt roads here than paved. If you are driving through, pulling a fifth wheel or not, You'll end up on a dirt road eventually. When you do, it's not inbred mutants that will scare you to death, but all the drunken morons racing up and down said dirt roads in their Powerstroke Diesels.

THunter- If I didn't already have a hubby, I'd definitely come visit you. Once you surrender all hope that you'll ever find The One, he will find you. Trust me on this.
The only thing I can do straight is shoot..

I like Rob Zombie movies. House of 1000 with Karen Black was great. She's so good. I still also like Rosemary's Baby and Exorcist 1.

I like movies like Silence of The Lambs. Pyschological rather than gore.

In reviewing this thread, I'm kind of surprised that no one mentioned Seven.  At the time, I thought it was better than sliced bread.  In a lot of ways, Saw has copied Seven w/ the scenarios and many horror movies have copied its cinematography.
