hello new to the site
« on: June 23, 2008, 02:25:54 am »
I am new to this site. I am 36. I have been hiv positive for 12years.  wow to put that down is crazy for me!
I have never had any type of emotional support. The only people who know about my status is my mother and husband. And yes my medical staff has always told me how lucky Iam to have them in my life.
And I do has long as I do not bring up my status or medical or anything. To them there is nothing wrong with me. And it drives me crazy now it seems like it taking over I dont know why. But hopefully this forum will help me to deal with all my thoughts or questions. Again hello to all :)

Hey Sprial,

Welcome to the forums.  I've been living with this for 19 years myself.  I'm glad you have your mum's and husband's support.  My family knows my status, and I also have quite a few friends who do.  Having support is very important.

Please join us in the dating thread.  It's not all about dating; it's where we ladies get together every day to discuss our lives, struggles etc. and support each other.

Again, welcome and I hope to hear more from you!
  Luv,
Betty

Welcome, Spiral!  I'm glad to hear that you are doing well and have the support of your husband and your mum.  I am HIV-, but have a wonderful 7yr old daughter who was born HIV+.  You have found yourself among the best group of women in the world.  Don't be afraid to ask questions, vent, or just let us know how you're doing today.  That's why we're here.

I echo Betty in that you should join us in the "dating" thread.  It's a great way to not only get to know everyone, but for us to get to know you, too.

Again, welcome!

Welcome.

I found out I had HIV in 1986.  Most likely I got it in 1981 due to multiple blood transfusions.  Remember your not alone.  If you need to vent, this is the place to be.

 :)

Sprial,

I wanted to add my welcome as well.  I have a new baby so I don't post here as often as I like but whenever I chime in the ladies here always make me feel at home :)
