I don't want to give history here.But just want to ask few questions

1.Can Dengue IGM positive test be false positive caused by HIV antibodies by any chance?
2.Can HIV virus stay in toilet hose spray entrance if someone with HIV uses this to douche by touching this close to anus.
3.Can HIV infected individual trannist virus if he or she is suffering from gum bleeding and other accidentally share the food or drinks with him at the same time.

I know all of these may not be categorized into same forum but trust me answers to these will make my life much easier.

Hiya,

This is an HIV forum. Your adult risks are; Sexual contact, sharing IV drug rigs (syringes) or in rare case blood transfusion/organ transplants, so unless you had one of these risks move on with your life.

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid HIV infection:
Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, every time, no exceptions. Consider starting PrEP as an additional layer of HIV protection going forward

Keep in mind that some sexual practices which may be described as ‘safe’ in terms of HIV transmission might still pose a risk for transmission of other STI's, so please do get fully tested regularly and at least yearly for all STI's including but not limited to HIV and test more frequently if unprotected intercourse occurs

Also note that it is possible to have an STI and show no signs or symptoms and the only way of knowing is by testing.

I will be travelling soon to US from India on business Visa b1 and will be carrying my HIV medications

1.What all I need to carry to prove that these are essential medications
2.Can I get denied at any airport in such cases?
3.What other precautions should I be taking?
4.Can I buy medicines when I reach US keeping some stock with me? will they allow me to buy as I will be a visitor there?

Welcome to the forum

I'm confused, are you living with HIV? Or is it PrEP/PEP medication?

If you are living with HIV perhaps you could introduce yourself to the forum, like how are you doing,and a few details such as what are your recent lab results like (CD4/VL) and what HIV treatment are you on? It's standard for new members.

As for taking meds like PrEP to the US with you, generally up to 3 months worth should be fine, if you are staying that long. Do bring a certificate with you in English stating clearly that the medication is for yourself, carry the cert & meds in hand-luggage. Yes I was diagnosed in June 2019.
I am on below medicine -Spegra which is combination of Dolutegravir,emcitarabine,temnofovir alafenamide.
I am doing well it took me not more than 2 months to get out of trauma.
My cd4 count at the time of diagnosis was 484
Doctor suggested we do my first viral load and next cd4 test in December.
Since it's a business visa I will be in US not more than a month but don't want to get rejected or denied on any airport.Is it possible?

Relax, You will not get rejected for having HIV meds with a certified letter from your doctor. I travel to the US for work 2-3 times a year never had any problems.

Look glad to hear that you are on treatment, and I hope you have a good trip to the US .

Please only post in this one thread.

HIV is not a contagious virus, unlike the flu as an example. So sharing food & drink is not how HIV is transmitted, neither is sharing the same bathroom or shower.

As HIV is fragile and limited, adult risks are - Sexual contact, sharing IV drug rigs (syringes) or in rare case blood transfusion/organ transplants

Bring the medicine with you. You can bring a three month supply no problem. Do get a doctor letter saying the medicine with you in necessary for a chronic condition and you are under his/her care.

Get the medicines in India where they cost about $100 for a month supply as the medicines you listed cost about $3000 for a month supply in the United States.

They are different antibodies. Now any antibodies test can have false reactions so if you had a reactive result for Dengue and you feel unsure about the result simply ask the Doc to retest and reassure you.

TheIndiandude. I'm from India and just returned back from a short US trip. Carried my medicine with prescription. However no one even asked anything about them. Do remember to carry your medicine in hand baggage with prescription and not check in ( in case the airline loose your check in baggage). Carry a bottle extra just in case of unforeseen delay in your return.

My PCR viral load results have come.Its done using Cobas Ampliprep-Cobas Taqman 48.
The results says "Target Not Detected".
Doc said that means I am doing great with the meds.
