Anxiety attacks? What?
« on: June 04, 2016, 04:28:14 pm »
I'll be 63 in October, and we (wife of 26-years and I) were diagnosed on Valentine's Day in 1994. The details are interesting, but don't matter right now.

However, in August of last year, I was prescribed Keflex for a cyst I didn't have and wasn't complaining about. 48-hours in, I was hurting and sick. What happened after that, well, it was pretty f'd up.

The thing is, I've been having what Jane says are anxiety attacks. She has them as well, however, being of different genders, the "attacks" have differences.

When mine hit, it's without warning and has happened just whenever and wherever it wants.

Nausea, sometimes a "hurting" nausea, vertigo...sometimes so hard there are movies, or parts of movies I can't watch. Too much color and/or too much "flying" or "roller-coaster", so my appetite is also affected. The neuropathy in my legs and feet seems to be more "sharp" and deeper.

No tobacco for over 25-years. I quit drinking when I was prescribed the Keflex, and haven't since. I do smoke Marijuana though, to manage the pain. And I even have restrictions on that because of cost and availability.

But what the he is up with anxiety thing? My life has been as so there's not much that scares/worries or bothers me. Anymore it's "what's gonna happen is gonna happen", you know?

I think you should visit a doctor to determine if these are indeed anxiety attacks. I've suffered from anxiety my whole life and have had frequent anxiety attacks. (They're much less frequent now, thanks to medication.) Perhaps anxiety may manifest itself in different ways in different people, but I think it's possible that your symptoms may be caused by something other than anxiety.

Thank you for reply on this thing about anxiety. The problem I'm having is that I believe it was brought on when my system had a problem with Cephelaxin. I think my system endured some kind shock from it, but, my current PCP refuses to discuss that scenario with me.

And frankly, the way the medical community is starting to behave towards patients with HIV/AIDS, it's beginning to seem as if I'll have to make my own way through this.
