Title: If your wondering if you can still have kids, you can, I did
Post by: Jake on January 17, 2017, 10:53:05 am
In March 2014 when I was 24 I was diagnosed with hiv and I was mad and sad at the and had all of these different emotions going through me and among those was the thought of not being able to have another kid, I had a 2 year old at the time but I had wanted another one and after finding out my diagnoses I thought "well that's never going to happen." In November 2016 after my wife and I learned more about HIV undetectability with the medication I was on along with Prep, we searched for a doctor to work with us, after calling around for a week I found two doctors that were willing to work with my wife and I, after talking about it, we decided instead of doing semen wash or anything else. We decided that my wife was going to get on Prep (Truvada) and I would get my viral load checked every month 20 days before we had intercoarse, we narrowed down when she would be ovulating and we would have unprotected sex during her ovulation and then she would go get tested and I would go get my viral load checked and then in January we found out that she was pregnant and we sat down and cried on the bathroom floor together because we knew that we had our micacle baby and just 9 months later our little boy was born an my wife continued to go get tested and she is still negative and our little boy is heathy as can be and so if anyone is wondering if it's possible, it is I did it and I just wanted to put it out there because when I was researching it I couldn't find anybody talking about how they had done the same thing.

Wonderful news and thank you for sharing your story with us and others that may be going through the same thing.

I was diagnosed in 2008 and since then, my HIV neg wife has gone onto have 2 healthy miracle children. We decided to do the sperm washing procedure but sufferered many miscarriages and heartache along the way. However we feel extremely blessed and I'd be glad to help anyone that may be considering doing the same hing.

X

Congrats! All three of mine have been conceived while I've been poz and my wife negative...we never knew I was poz and that I had been since before we started dating. She is still negative (thankfully!) and we have our three healthy miracle babies.

Nothing like kids...as crazy and grey as they make you, lol!
