Tears Run Rings
« on: May 05, 2011, 07:20:29 pm »
Okay, for some reason this song by Marc Almond popped into my head.  I'm really not sure why.  OK, I do actually.  I think I'm suffering from bin laden fatigue.  :o

Anyway, I thought it would be interesting to see which movies (no matter how many times you watch them) always make you cry?

The angels sighed
A little girl cried
The tears run rings around my eyes

We're going to set fire
To the house in my heart
We're going to set fire
To the whole damn world
I don't understand
The wicked things we do
In the name of the good
In the name of the few

The angels sighed
The little girl cried
The tears run rings around my eyes

don't equate intelligence with lack of masculinity

Armageddon
(Ben Affleck crying out to Bruce Willis as he goes back down to the comet surface alone to save earth and Liv Tyler)

Pearl Harbor
(during the attack when all those people die, and when Rafe/Josh tells Ben Affleck that he's going to have to be the father)

Deep Impact
(when the tsunami washes over Tia Leona and her father, and when Denise Crosby sends her babby off with daughter and Elijha Woods)

The Return of the King (LOTR3)
(when Elijah Wood puts on that tiny sad smile as Sean Astin and the Hobbits finally realize Frodo is leaving with Bilbo and the elves)

Brokeback Mountain
(Heath Ledger seeing "deceased" on the postcard, and when he finds his and Jake's shirts in the cubbyhole)

The Color Purple
(when Whoopi meets up with hers and Celie's children from Africa, Adam and Olivia)

I thought it would be interesting to see which movies (no matter how many times you watch them) always make you cry?
Even though I own most of these movies, I never miss them when they play on TV; and no matter how many times I watch these, they make me cry at these spots. :'( Oddly enough, I often find myself watching them on purpose even though I know I'll end up crying.  ::)

We were standing all alone
You were leaning in to speak to me
Acting like a mover shaker
Dancing to Madonna then you kissed me
And I think about it all the time
