Welcome to the "Do I Have HIV?" POZ forum.

This special section of the POZ forum is for individuals who have concerns about whether or not they are HIV positive. Individuals are permitted to post up to three questions or responses in this forum.

Ongoing participation in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum (posting more than three questions or responses) requires a paid subscription, with secure payments made via PayPal.

Hi,

I have extensively researched what the high risk activities are and I am aware that it is generally known that unprotected anal-vaginal sex and needle sharing are the ones that are listed as risky activities. I am also aware that oral sex is said to be either very low or no-risk. However, my encounter is a little bit more complicated:

I had a body-to-body naked massage from a white girl in NY. She performed oral on me, and there was rubbing involved. Specifically, I never penetrated but rubbed my penis on her vagina. By the end of our session she performed a hand job. These would never have concerned me, up until she told me that she was in her bleeding cycle. I did not see any blood on her body or her genital region, but I might just not have carefully looked. Questions that ate my brain: May be she had blood on her hands, or she had blood around her vagina when we were rubbing?

After this encounter, I had the following tests all negative:

19th day: HIV1 DNA-PCR (Labcorp) & HIV1-2 ICMA Antibody (Labcorp)
28th day: HIV1 DNA-PCR (Labcorp) & HIV1-2 ICMA Antibody (Labcorp)
8th week: HIV1-2 ICMA Antibody (Labcorp)
10th week: HIV1-2 ICMA Antibody (Labcorp)
12th week: HIV1-2 ICMA Antibody (Labcorp)
13th week(91 days): HIV1-2 ICMA Antibody (Labcorp)

At week 4 I had a brief cold (no fever, mild sore throat). Between weeks 6 and 11, I had tingling and burning sensations in my right hand and left foot, and I am connecting these to the HIV-peripheral neuropathy. I am still concerned because I am not sure whether or not her being in the bleeding cycle places me in a risky encounter. Because there was quite a bit of rubbing and body-to-body interaction.

I will appreciate if you can asses the risk level since she was on bleeding cycle and might have blood on her body and hands? Also, I will be glad if you can comment on the tests' accuracy for the PCRs and Antibodies. Also, are the ICMA blood antibody tests (done through Labcorp) similar to ELISA 3rd gen. as some websites say?

You are conclusively HIV negative . You never had a risk and you have tested beyond what was required for a reliable result .

Its safe to move on .
