Waiting on HIV-2 RNA and CD4 test result
« on: August 12, 2013, 08:47:15 pm »
I had very limited exposure. Couple oral sex with girls and one time I penetrated someone's vagina for less then 30 seconds, it was unprotected.
My encounters were  between last 5 years to last 5 months ( 2008 to March 2013). I did not do anything for last 5 months

After last exposure, I took 2 ICMA HIV test for HIV 1/O/2 they were negative. I took HIV-1 RNA test, it was negative too. I took one HIV-1 DNA test, it was also negative.
But I am concerned cause I had Shingles which healed right away as soon I took medications. Now I have white tongue for last couple months, doctors told me it is not thrush. But I think it is thrush. My nails are changing, got yellow and long stripes. My left ear is ringing for last 4 weeks.

last Friday ( Aug 09, 2013)  I took HIV-2 and CD4 count. Test result came back today. It is too quick. ID office called me to make an appointment, I am concerned.
Test result came back so quickly, what does it mean? Do I have it after so many tests?

Today is going to be a long night for me. Cannot stop worrying.
Please response me quickly.

I am worried sick.

The HIV test you took are conclusive that you do not have HIV , so you need to see your doc again about the symptoms and find out why you are sick , its  not HIV .

The testing window period is 6 weeks post exposure and again at 3 months , you tested conclusively HIV negative beyond what is required .

I already took HIV-2 and CD4 test last week. Tests came back so quickly in 2 business days, what does it mean?

My HIV-1 RNA and HIV-1 DNA tests were negative. What are the changes of I am getting infected with HIV-2 or HIV 0/N?

My WBC is also normal.

Jeff I know I am acting irrational, please have little patience with me.

How much time passed between the time you had unprotected sex and the two negative HIV test ? if it was 3 months past your last exposure than you are HIV negative .

I wish I could answer why your new test came back so fast but I cant . Perhaps they processed them quickly because they were not busy , any way I wouldn't make too much over it because you are simply guessing . Wish I could be of more help .

here is all my sexual exposure:  I had sex in 2007 just for 30 seconds, it was unprotected.
In 2008 I had virginal sex with 2 condoms.
In between 2009 - 2011, I had oral with 2 girls.
I met some girl in December 2012, I just fingered her and sucked her breast nothing else. March 2013 I kissed a girl. That's all.  My tests are all after 3-5 months after my kissing of the girl in March 2012. Even my tests are after 3 months of kissing.

The only risk you had was unprotected vaginal or anal back in 2007.

Jeff/Rapid Please answer.
1. Is it possible to have normal CBC count after my 2007 exposure which is like 6 years. Is it possible to have a lower CD4 count with normal CBC count?

2. How rare is HIV 2 and HIV 0/N in USA?

3. Is there any chance my ICMA HIV 1/O/2, HIV-1 RNA and HIV1-DNA are false negative?

4. If I was tested positive in HIV-2 test I think it is RNA, would they have done western blot or something like that?

5. Does oral Thrush hurt or burn? Cause it never hurts or burn for me  and I don't have any sore either.

Hi worried you are only allowed to post 3 questions before having to buy a subscription , that's why you cant post anymore .

You tested negative in the proper window period and do not have HIV . You need to simply wait and get your newest results , they will be negative also because you haven't had a risk since 2007 , none of the other things are of concern .

I am very sorry you are feeling ill. I am also sorry you opted to waste money on a subscription to the forum.

We will absolutely not be holding your hand each and every time you have an unwarranted concern. You need to talk to a professional counselor about your irrational fear of HIV. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy works wonders for people with your irrational fear. I sincerely hope that you pursue that avenue.

"Many people, especially in the gay community, turn to oral sex as a safer alternative in the age of AIDS. And with HIV rates rising, people need to remember that oral sex is safer sex. It's a reasonable alternative."

My doctor called me and told me my CD4 count is 1549.
Given my exposure is long time ago, I am on clear?

I did not get my HIV2- RNA test result yet.

My left ear is ringing for last 4 weeks non-stop. It just gives me constant reminder something is not right with me.

You have been told you do not have HIV already so there isn't really anything to add .

You have already tested negative , give it up .
