I think it is a small problem but please advice
« on: November 25, 2006, 09:08:21 am »
Dear all,

I come to the point.

1. I had protected sex with a woman (2 times) and my condom seems to be ok by way of I keep them both and fill them with water in the bathroom after sex and they don't seem to be broken or anything. But before we had sex, she gave me a b*** job then I put on condom.

2. During the sex, we kiss a lot and I feel like I had swollen her saliva as well.

3. Should/can I still have unprotected sex with my girlfriend (to her unprotected sex is a must), because I am worrying about her only (if I am going to get infect, I hope I am the only person who pays the price, not her).  But if all of sudden I put on my condom, then she will ask me why and we will fight.

From above:
1. what chance do I have to be infected?
2. If you are in my situation, would you worry about it?
3. would you carry on your normal life (I mean, unprotected sex)?

kenny,

Condoms have been proven to be effective when it comes to preventing hiv transmission.

There have been long-term studies of couples where one is positive and one is negative. In the couples who used condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, not one of the negative partners became infected with hiv. Not one.

You also do not need to worry about kissing, as saliva is not infectious where hiv is concerned.

You can continue on having unprotected intercourse with your girlfriend - ONLY if you have both tested together at some point in your relationship. You cannot assume ANYone's hiv status, no, not even your girlfriend. You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL STIs together. To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with a sexually transmitted infection.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

Dear Ann,

Thank you for your support to be here for all of us.  I have read through your advice but a little point that not there has not been answered whereby before the intercourse, she gave me unprotected b*** job, then I put on condom.

And yes, my and my girl friend had HIV test since March 2006 then we totally have been faithful with each other 100% untill I slip out yesterday.

I don't want to bother you any long because your time is value for other as well.  Please re-confirm my possibility for one last time.

Thank you so much for your value time Ann, I mean thank you.

Receiving a blowjob is not in any way a risk for HIV transmission. In the entire history of the epidemic there has not been a single case of transmission in that manner and you aren't going to become the first.

There's no cause for concern about HIV in this instant.

Cheers,

In reply to your PM, yes, I totally agree with Ann that you don't have to be worried about HIV from having had protected intercourse. Condoms have proved to be very effective in protecting against HIV transmission.

I don't see any need for concern or testing on your part for HIV.

You maybe feeling guilt and regret about having strayed. That's a separate issue and those feelings do not change the fact that you weren't at risk for HIV.

Dear all,

I have an accident in the public bathroom where I was bleeding on my thunmb.

It happened when I lock the door which it was a slider one, not knob.

I suspect that if someone intentionally drop his/her blood then my finger just happened to be cut there, is there any chance to get any kind of virus such as HIV? It happened about a month ago which cause me some worry.  Should I get my self check? Please advice

Kenny,

This is the second time I've had to merge your threads. Get with the program already.

I've merged your new thread into your original thread - where you should post all your additional thoughts or questions. It helps us to help you when you keep all your additional thoughts or questions in one thread.

If you need help finding your thread when you come here, click on the "Show own posts" link under your name in the left-hand column of any forum page.

Please also read through the Welcome Thread so you can familiarize yourself with our Forum Posting Guidelines. Thank you for your cooperation.

When you read the Welcome thread, click on the Transmission Lesson link while you're there so you can have a better understanding about what is and what isn't a risk for hiv infection.

You did not have a risk. Hiv cannot be transmitted to you from environmental surfaces. Once the virus is outside the human body, it quickly loses it's ability to infect.

You did NOT have a risk.

7 Weeks Test after exposing
« Reply #9 on: June 12, 2007, 11:00:54 am »
Hello,

I would like to ask you whether or not should I worry by this situation.  I’ve been had a unprotected sex with my colleague at work (accounting firm).

1. The first time at Mar 17, 07 and the last time April 22, 2007.

2. During that time (From Mar 17, 2007 to April 22, 2007) we’ve been had such unprotected sex around 20 times (2 protected sexes when she was having her period).

3. However, I have stopped our relationship where I totally stopped having sex with her ever since that day and I went to test on April 22, 2007 (the Last day we had sex) then the result comes with Negative (Around 35 Days from the First Expose).

4. Today (June 12, 2007) I had a test again and it was NEGATIVE (7 Weeks or around 49-50 Days from the Last Expose).

I would like to ask how many odds are in my favor since I don't want to panic but it is very extremely hard to sleep at night.

Please advice,

Thank you and appreciate your help,

Kenny,

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL STIs together. To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with a sexually transmitted infection. Sex with a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

You've already been told this the last time you were here. Why are you continuing to put yourself at risk? You're playing roulette with your health.

Although it's unlikely you would go on to test positive after that seven week negative, you MUST confirm your negative status at the three month point. Hiv status is nothing to assume or guess about.

While it would seem you've been lucky so far, sooner or later your luck is going to run out and you'll end up hiv positive. Does that scare you? It should.

Test again at the three month point and collect what I fully expect to be another negative result.

Ann

Dear Ann,

I've fully realized the situation where I put myself at risk, no excuse at all.  I have assumed things when I was with her which totally stupid, I regret on what I have done, I really do.  I won't walk this way again in the future, it costs me too much.

OK, from now on with my sleepless nights until 13 weeks whatever result I'll get that would be the price I pay for my mistake for the rest of my life.

Nobody fault but mine, I totally speechless right now.

Thank you Ann for being here
