1st results from Atripla
« on: April 28, 2008, 05:35:11 pm »
After 6 weeks on Atripla I am now UNDETECTABLE!!  ;D

Cd4's remained steady at 482, but my % went up to 27% from 22%.

Same cholesterol story, under 200 total, but the good and bad #'s need work, as well as the triglycerides.

Congrats on your first results.  I think I'd just as soon have that 5 point cd4% increase over the actual cd4's, considering that you're already starting treatment at 482.

It's amazing how quickly meds can erase that viral load, isn't it?  Do you notice any increased energy or anything like I did when that happened?

Thanks Philly, no I haven't noticed any change in my energy level either way.  I had so little reaction to the meds I was seriously wondering if they were doing anything at all!

But I can tell you this, I am THRILLED to hear that I'm undetectable so soon.  I'm very thankful for the meds and my reaction to them, and need to channel that into getting my ass back to the gym! ;)

Congratulations, Paul.  And good luck with the cholesterol thing.  I was doing fine cholesterol wise up until a couple years ago.  I went on Lipitor and that took care of it.  My triglycerides are always elevated, but I'm diabetic also and understand that's pretty normal for diabetics (at least I hope so).

That is an amazing result - so pleased for you. And it's great you've been tolerating the meds so well. Hope your skin problems are gradually settling down too. Mine has been improving day by day, to my great relief. Hope to be joining you in that undetectable club soon.. ;D

Hello,

The undetectable is  fantastic news, good job on that. And the CD-4's are great also. As far as Cholesterol, just try to focus, a little more on diet and nutrition, and see if you can tweak things a bit to get that a little more under control. Has the doctor made a suggestion as far as cholesterol medication goes?

I think I was around the 180 count, on two readings, when the doctor suggested medication, to help bring that under control. I am also on Lipitor. I am still waiting for my blood tests results from last Monday. For all I know, They may be in the mailbox now. I haven't been outside to check yet.

The main thing is your undetectable, so be real pleased about that !!

Take care----Ray

Thanks Betty, Keyite and Ray!

My cholesterol has ALWAYS been just over 200 near 230 most of the time. I'm kinda happy with a total under 200, but I know I have to get the inside #'s to better levels.

Ray, my doc is no longer suggesting any meds as I've been steady with these cholesterol #'s for about 6 months now on my own, and now with a test after 6 weeks of meds.

Keyite, you're so close to undetectable, you're probably there already!

Congratulations, Longislander!
Atripla knocked my viral load down to undectable too, and since then, my CD4's have been moving up. And the side effects have been minimal, especially if i take it right before bed.
It works!
