Hepatitis A and parasites ...

If you have not already been vaccinated against both Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B you should very seriously consider being vaccinated.

Actually Simon, the greatest risk from rimming is HAV (Hepatitis A) infection and there is a separate and very effective vaccination for that which you should enquire after.

It is possible to contract HBV (Hepatitis B) infection from rimming but it's more likely to be transmitted through unprotected vaginal or anal sex or through sharing injecting equipment.

Many HIV positive people have trouble developing sufficient immunity to HBV after immunisation, but this can often be addressed by an extended schedule of dosing. Ask your doctor about this too.

Different companies produce HBV vaccines but they all do the same thing. They contain a synthetically produced component of HBV (called surface antigen) which provokes your immune system to respond giving you immunity to infection by the virus.

Given that you had no response it makes sense that they're going to repeat the whole course of injections. It really makes no difference which brand of HBV vaccine they use.

Sometimes HBV vaccine and HAV vaccine are combined into a single series of injections as homosexually active males are prone to both infections.
