JS,

If you do not have a confirmed hiv positive diagnosis, you should not be posting in this forum, you should be posting in the Am I Infected? forum. Please read the Welcome Thread. Thank you for your cooperation.

I've moved your thread over to AM I INFECTED. Please keep all of your entries in this same thread.

If you have tested negative at three months then you are HIV negative unless either intravenous drug use or a severely compromised immune system from such as treatment for cancer are issues. With those exceptions your negative is reliable and no further testing is necessary.

not sure about hiv testing. my story is i believe im infected. my question is  that some people will test neg out to six months and still be pos. there are a few cases. so all of us who test to three months or 13 weeks. or 12 weeks, then go on our marry way and what if we are really infected? there are many people that will take maybe 14 weeks or more to turn,. then they infect  more people. wifes, husband, gf, people human beings. why not have a 12 month rule. so you have safe sex for a year. just to be safe.

Because a 6 or 12 month "rule" is not necessary. The window period for HIV testing is 3 months. The miniscule number of people who take longer than 3 months to seroconvert have pre-existing medical conditions which would already be known to their medical practitioner.

You are not one of that miniscule number.

Now do you have a risk you'd like to raise with us or not?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I didn't have any illness between my last HIV- test in june 2006 and my HIV+ test in october 2006.

That said, I still think I had an HIV related illness, but before. In early 2006 I had many sex partners, but always safe - or so I thought. I tested HIV negative in early march 2006.

In april 2006 - I had very bad vomitting for several nights long. My throat was hurting like hell and I could barely drink, let alone eat. I became very dehydrated and lost about 10 lbs in a week. I was tested for and diagnosed with strep throat. After I got antibiotics, the illness went away. This was a very bad illness and I have never had anything like it before. That's when I believe my seroconversion illness happened.

2 months later, in late june 2006, I was diagnosed with chlamydia. I retested for HIV, but I still tested negative.

In late october 2006, I tested positive during my routine annual physical. And I had a very low viral load (598).

I think my illness in april was related to HIV infection. I don't know if it's proper to call it "seroconversion illness" since I still tested HIV- over 10 weeks after it. According to current scientific views, I should have tested positive after it if this was a seroconversion illness. So maybe it should have another name. But I still think I was infected already by then, and that this illness was related to HIV - it was not just a plain strep throat.

You are trawling the poz only forums looking for things to support your unfounded belief that you have HIV infection. Trawling is frowned upon here. You should not go dragging the issues of HIV positive members back here to AMI.

The cases of other people bear absolutely no relevance to yours. If you think you've been at risk of HIV infection you should arrange to be tested by your doctor or at your local sexual health clinic at the appropriate time.

While were about it, please be aware that you will not be allowed to post endlessly about non-risk situations or generic "symptoms" you claim to be suffering from.

Anyone who continues to post excessively, questioning a conclusive negative result or no-risk situation, will be subject to a four week Time Out (a temporary ban from the Forums). If you continue to post excessively after one Time Out, you may be given a second Time Out which will last eight weeks. There is no third Time Out - it is a permanent ban. The purpose of a Time Out is to encourage you to seek the face-to-face help we cannot provide on this forum.

Only a small group of people seroconvert after the 13 week window period, this group includes those who are receiving immuno-suppressive therapy after transplant procedures, cancer patients who are receiving chemotherapy and long term injecting drug users.

A CD4% of 49 and an absolute count 1586 combined with a history of negative HIV antibody testing results indicates that you are absolutely, totally and irrefutably HIV negative.

You do not have HIV and you have been warned that you will not be allowed to keep posting this nonsense.

Move on.

I have merged your threads again, I have already explained this to you.

I have merged your threads, please keep all your thougths and questions in this thread only do not start other threads.

As always Matty is spot on, in an HIV negative adult a normal CD4 is between 40-45% and an average absolute count for an HIV negative adult is normally between 1000-1600.

You are HIV negative..it's time for you to accept that and move on.

js,

I suggest you read the Welcome Thread as well as this thread before you even think about posting again. You don't seem to think the rules of this place apply to you - but I'm here to tell you they do. Fail to abide by any of them again and you'll be banned. No kidding.

You're hiv negative with CD4 counts to die for. Get on with your life.

I know you were having trouble with your password, but I also know that you remembered it and accessed your account BEFORE you tried to create not one, but TWO new accounts. If you'd read the Welcome thread like you've been told to, you would have known this is a bannable offence.
