I had protected sex with a girl it was the first time i ever had sex before but she had told me she had been with two other people before me. I was really nervous and when i put the condom on i rolled it down as far as it would go but i think that it wasn't completlet down to the base of my penis there was prob like a quater inch of skin showing, should I get tested for HIV im kinda freakin out here lookin for some info.

Wait to see if your pee pee gets itchy. If it does, head for the hospital, tell them everything and ask for an hiv test. They can only give you a test if they know what happened and you ask for the test.

That is quite possibly the least accurate, most uninformed response I have read in quite a while. HIv test based on an itchy pee pee? HIV test for protected sex?
I urge you to acquaint yourself with the vectors for HIV transmission before adding your wisdom to these boards.

You had protected sex. There is no risk whatsoever for HIV infection.

You did the right thing and used a condom. Skin is an excellent barrier against hiv transmission and that includes the skin on your penis. It is the head of your penis and the opening of the urethra that you need to protect, not the shaft.
You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL STIs together. To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with a sexually transmitted infection.
Keep using those condoms. Have a look at the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use those condoms with confidence.
You did not have a risk of hiv infection.

Scared, just so you know, it's very common when becoming sexually active to be nervous. Yes, it's also exciting and other things as well, but some worrying is a part of the experience as well -- did I do it right, was I protected, etc.
You've made a very good start in terms of protecting your health (and that of your partners) by using a condom for intercourse. Do that everytime and you won't have to worry about HIV. No matter how much you like a future partner or what you think you know about the person's history, a condom is a must everrytime.
This time out there is absolutely no cause for concern about HIV. Read the lessons about transmission and testing just so you will be down with the basics about HIV prevention.

I apologise if I freaked you out with my BS, but I honestly thought you were joking.
Condoms are almost fool proof, but they can leak or break at the worst of times. I know all about that as do many others on this website.
So, if your going to play with fire wear a good brand of protection that isn't out dated. Yup, condoms can get old while still in the package.
Many sero-discordant couples who have been together many years are still having great sex using condoms.
So be carefull, use condoms and stop freaking out. Also stop listening to BS'ers like me when I'm to weak to know better. Besides, if you read the lessons, the knowledge you'll gain will put your mind at ease.

Today at work I gave someone a fist pound, which is hitting your fist against another persons fist. i saw that the person had an oozing scab on the outside of their finger, I was wearing wool gloves when I gave him the pound and saw that I had some small cuts on the outside of my fingers where they met his. My question is was the wool gloves enough protection or could the HIV have passed through them into my small cuts? Also would this fist pound be qualified as a handshake and thus making it impossible for transmission even if I was not wearing a glove?

Today at the gym there appeared to be a couple of spots of dry blood on one of the machines at the gym, I touched the spots with my hands not noticing the blood until afterwards. I did not notice any blood on my hands afterwards but i was really gripping the bar tight which had the blood on it. Could I have gotten HIV this way and has there ever been a documented case of someone getting HIV through a gym?

No. HIV does not remain infectious outside the body. Moreover, HIV does not pass through skin.

I had a blood blister and as I was lifting it popped and began to bleed and a few layers of skin came off. If there was blood on the gym equipment that i was using afterwards could HIV have gotten in it and infected me?

If HIV could be passed in a gym in the manner you are concerned about we would have known it way long before today. HIV is fragile virus which is passed in very particular ways, most specifically through unprotected anal and/or vaginal intercourse.
You have no cause for further concern about this incident. However, I do suggest you read the lesson on this site about transmission which you can reach through the first thread in this section. This epidemic is going to be around for a long time to come.
To protect yourself, enjoy your sexuality and your life and to spare you unnecessary worry such as this you need to be better informed about the real HIV issues.
This time out there's no cause for concern.

You've already been told that hiv is not transmitted in the environment. It is transmitted during unprotected anal or vaginal intercourse. Use condoms for intercourse and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple.

Today I asked someone to borrow a pen and when i got it the pen was all chewed up from the person and it was wet and disgusting. I had a cut on one of my fingers and i fear that I could have gotten aids this way. Should I go for testing?

Saliva is not infectious where hiv is concerned. You've already been told that hiv is not transmitted in the environment. It is transmitted during unprotected anal or vaginal intercourse. Use condoms for intercourse and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple.
Either you are trying to wind us up, or you are in serious need of some counseling to help you deal with these wild hiv anxieties of yours. We cannot help you on either count.

ill be honest wtih you im not trying to pull anyone chain or mess with anyones head. Ive always been paranoid about HIV and other diseases that I could get belive me I would not come on here and try to just get people mad b/c thats not my M.O at all. I really do need counseling im a germaphob and i just want to live a long life and never die.

a guy at work washed himself off iin the sink then dried his face and hands with 2 paper towels. he threw the paper towels at me and it hit me in the face and the eye on the side of my eye actually. He had small cuts on his arms and his face but not that big I didnt notice him bleeding. could the blood from the paper towles have gotten intot he mucus membranes in my eye? Im very scared and i think i might be infected but i did not see him bleeding but i dont know if there was blood on the paper towles should i get tested im so scared

Hello i have not posted here in a while because i realized i was paranoid about HIV transmission. I am currently a police officer, last night i arrested someone and while i was uncuffing the perp to put in the holding cell I noticed he was bleeding from the back of his hands he had lots of dried blood on his hand and the cuts were still open. I inspected my hands and did not see blood on them but there might have been. I had a cut on my hand that was not currently bleeding that i must have gotten about a day or two ago but it was deep and about a quarter of an inch maybe less wide. i had to finger print the perp i used gloves not sure if they were even latex or just rubber gloves my question is should i get tested for hiv? my hands were not bleeding at the night i was uncuffing him.

There is absolutely no need to test....you really need to read the Welcome Thread (http://forums.poz.com/index.php?topic=220.0) and educate yourself on how HIV is transmitted, if you don't then you are going to have a hell of a time coping with your job.

You've been coming to this site for nearly a year and a half. It's high time you read the transmission lesson and got a grip on your hiv anxiety. This is not the proper place for you to work through your mental health issues. If you really are a cop, you will be able to receive counseling through your job - or certainly through your GP. I suggest you do. We cannot help you here.
