AIDSmeds gathering - a few questions
« on: February 14, 2008, 04:08:17 pm »
Ok, I'm trying to get together as much information as possible to see if we can make it.  I have a couple of financial questions.

1 - I see that the hotels aren't going to be the major concern that I thought it would be.  Very nice hotels at extremely reasonable rates.  Kudos
Mike M.  Do we need to pay a deposit to make our reservations?  Are the reservations made by each person or in the name of AMG so they'll
     be "blocked" together?

2 - Aside from the expected expenses (plane, hotel, food, transpo, ect.), are there any "fees" or "dues" that we need to pay to help with the
meet and greet, t-shirts, programs, meeting room rentals, ect.?  If so, do we need to pay them before we go or when we get there?

3 - Does the coordinator plan / schedule any group tours / day trips that we need to pay for in advance?

Sorry for so many questions.  We're trying to work out the practicality of being able to attend.

Ok, sorry, 3 more questions:

1. Does the hotel have potable (drinkable) water? Will be important if folks want to make coffee in their room and are used to getting water from the faucet.

2. In the restaurant / bar is the ice made from potable water?  I'd hate to see us have a case of Montezuma's revenge.

3. Are there refrigerators in the room?  Mini has meds that need to be refrigerated.  Can't promise we'll be able to switch them to all pills by August.

Sorry for all the questions, I just like be prepared.

Hi Mom

We will have more answers to your questions when we have settled on the hotel.

As for the extras, you just pay for what you want/need.

If an official Meet and greet is arranged then a small fee is involved..if memory serves me well it normally works out about $20 each..but until everything has been worked out and settled it's hard to to know at this poing..but have no fear we will keep you informed as we go.

Hugs

Thanks, Jan.  The anal in me just likes to have things all thought out and in neat little rows.  You'd think having 6 kids would've cured that :P
